I've always been in the suburbs and this whole "community raises him" idea doesn't really exist. It's not being "cut out". It's keeping it moving. Other groups aren't asking for handouts like people in the "hoods" are. People there want everyone to solve all their problems. The exceptions don't kill the rule either.

Say we are all struggling in the pool. Almost on the brink of drowning. I learn to swim and I swim to the edge. Here I am trying to tell you how to swim and instead of following my advice what do you do? You say, "Nah man, don't teach me how to swim... just toss me a rope."

Like what I said before, white guys that drive damn near a hour just to help mentor black kids with full time jobs and families are doing more then the black guy around the corner?

You speaking from a perspective that every dude that knocks these broads up and is uninvolved afterwards is a thug. You dudes not living in reality, that's not even more than half of the cases. The culture we have as black men promotes that type of fukk em and duck em attitude amongst nikkas from the burbs to the projects that is behind a lot of this noncommital behavior. The majority of single mothers I know are middle class and were in a long term relationship that soured so the nikka became inactive with his own kid.

And yeah they both should have gotten married before they had a child together but we also talking about a culture that acts like you a simp if you do before your late 30s. And how many bytches do you expect to be childless after all them years of running into fukk em and duck em nikkas

Who said anything about anyone being a "thug?" A man doesn't have to be a thug to be unworthy of procreating with. The odd thing is, most of the black women in yesteryears (parents, grand parents etc) got it right, despite going against greater odds with less resources. They choose men who WANTED to be married, who WANTED to work and provide for their families and who WANTED to raise children in a healthy stable environment. They as women knew that they had to have their priorities in shape. Back in the 60s the out of wedlock rates for blacks was around 25% give or take but ended up skyrocketing once the Feds made daddy become foodstamps and section 8.

Now I'm not putting the entire burden on the women here, a lot of black men fukked up when push came to shove. But in my personal opinion, women stand much more to lose by having children out of wedlock than men do. And based on that reality it would probably be in their best interests to ensure that their priorities are on their A-game when it comes to mate selection.

Assuming you don't have daughters what do you and some of the others plan on telling them if or when you do have them some day? Are you going to cement something into their heads after the fact of what men are "suppose" to do? Or are you going to school them to take full control of what enters and exists their bodies?

there is a big difference but it seems yall dont know the difference.

Mentoring isnt doing another mans job, its helping keep young males on the right path. Yall think spending time with them for 3 hours a day doing someone else job? Most of my kids come from single parent homes and usually their mother is at work at the time. Its not like yall buying them clothes, giving them money, taking care of them. Just showing them that its help and advice when they need it is more then enough.

So what happens when you spend that time with them, and then they go home and the positive things you taught aren't being reinforced? I have no problem with mentoring, what I'm getting at is that you might be the sole male figure in that man's life. And he'll see you as a father figure because he doesn't have one.

I grew up with a father, and in a church setting with men who would tell me what's up. I didn't carry their religious beliefs into my adult life, but everything else I did. And it was reinforced by my father.

Ion think a lot of kids have that double experience. It's either one or the other. I had my pops, plus the og's. They just have tv and women.
