Violence is a by product of poverty

Black people are in poverty because of racist capitalism primarily

So unless those things are addressed there will be no dent in violence.

These speeches don’t work

Committing violence is a conscious decision. You can be as poor as dirt, but that doesn't excuse you killing the next man. That's a facile excuse that has lost its currency in the fight against violence in our community.
