Who the hell is going to create teams, design logos, make jerseys, organize front offices, initiate PR, build/rent arenas, negotiate marketing agreements, sign TV/radio deals, and everything else that comes with the decades of work it takes to build a professional sports league?

These guys are professional athletes. Athletes. Not entrepreneurs. Not lawyers. Not business men.

Hell, most of these guys don't even have the equivalent of a 2 year Associates degree from a community college, but you want them to pool together and replicate a multi-billion dollar industry?

I hate racist arrogant cac owners as much as the next guy, but this is literally a waste of time to even think about.

it could be done. they can hire people to create teams, design logos, make jerseys, organize front offices, initiate PR, build/rent arenas, negotiate marketing agreements, sign TV/radio deals. it will take time. the nba didnt become a billion dollar business overnight. the nba advantage is they can pay more. if a new league happens and they get the best players then they can take it from their.

and when these arenas are not filled by these white racist owners do you think cities will not try to fill them?
Not if those white racist owners still own exclusive rights to play basketball in those arenas and still have a product that will still be shown on tv and supported by fans. You think every superstar black player is going to turn down a max contract to go play for a fraction of that just because? It's not that simple...

well if they do turn it down then you have a change coming. i know its not that simple but if players wanna do their own thing they have to take the steps to. their are also other networks that dont show the nba that will be willing to show a new league if the see fit. remember nbc showed the xfl. and if these white racist owners dont have the quality players no more do you think fans would watch?

Just stop bruh, why would they even want to do this. Because some owners are racist? Who fukking cares, they are getting paid millions of dollars and have a chance to create family legacies. Now you want them to basically play for free, or even pay to play, as they try to secure revenue, sponsors and a million other things that allow the NBA to run. :dahell:

And if I'm a rookie coming into the league I'm damn sure not signing with this league if the NBA money is calling. I've dedicated my whole life to this shyt and now you trying to pay me WNBA money :rudy:.

Theres far better black initiatives these players can invest in and make a difference with, then risk everything for something that's more then likely to fail :manny:

XFL was gone in one year, the usbl is still out there, is that on tv? Isiah tried this with the CBA and failed. Where's arena football on tv? They were on ESPN/NBC for a few years but not anymore. Even the NHL is not on tv right now outside the winter classic. You know why? Because only the big 4 networks and ESPN have that type of cash to sponsor sports leagues and they are all in bed with the NFL/NBA not just nationally but locally with the fox sports souths/ comcast east local channels. 90% of the cable channels make no money which is why the cable companies don't want to go ala carte because all those channels will shutdown...

the thing with cba and usbl they never got high profile players or big investors. if lebron james and some of the high profile nba players go to another league you dont think ratings would be high. their would be alot of interest.you dont think players will follow them. thing the with nhl have ratings ever been high. also they had like two lockouts in like a 5yr period. and the nhl is on nbcsports. the xfl was seen as a gimmick that's why it folded. like i say youhave to take small steps. again the nba, nfl, mlb wasnt a billion dollar company overnight. it took decades. guys had to get jobs after the season ended back in the day to pay their bills.

what it is the owners have a grip on the players by being able to pay them the money they do. so thats why guys arent willing to start their own league. their people out there with the money to finance a new league. players have to get on board if they wanna start something new. until then they will be under the racist white owners.

This is a good idea in theory though difficult to implement in practice. However if black players pooled a portion of their salaries into a fund and used it to begin teams, hire employees and rent stadiums, I think the players could begin their own league. On the other hand, calling that league the "Negro League" doesn't fly in America. The league should have a a patriotic name that cacs will like, something like the "All-American Basketball League", the ABL.

So you saying we need massa?...

do you even realize what you're saying?...
You think just because you have "hope" and "optimism" that dudes like JR Smith and Chris Anderson are going to be able to whip up a competitive league?

One that rivals the NBA, which has stood for decades?

Building a multi-billion dollar sports league that can stand up to the NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL is faaaaaaar beyond the scope of people who finish college AND grad school, much less NBA athletes who never even take a single business or accounting class.

This isn't about massa. If these guys were capable of not having to play for these owners in this system, don't you think they would have broken off a long time ago?

They're simply not capable of building their own league and receiving the same $120mil/5yr contracts.

but why would someone like a Lebron leave the Cavs now where he is running the franchise and city. Kobe will be a king in LA forever just like Magic the same for Wade in Miami. In your perfect world if they get all the sponsors and tv contracts, areana space to support this new black league, how much more money would they make? Lebron will have made close to a billion dollars on and off the court by the end of his career, same for Durant and Kobe. Its not worth it to those guys to do what you want. And all those mid level players that you need to fill teams of will want to play in a league with Lebron, Durant & Kobe because that means more money for them in the long run. If i was Lebron or Kobe, i would rather own a NBA team like MJ. They will have the capital and support when they are ready to jump in a buy a team...

The same posters who say black players or people can't make their own league are the same posters who believed Jay Z sports agency was nothing but a mere fantasy. If rich black people pool their money together, they have more than enough to start profit-generating businesses.
