Plus, any actor that steps up will be forever compared to Chadwick

That's fine, people compare batman and superman actors all the time. T'Challa was an established marvel character 10 whole years before Chadwick was born. He had a legacy before the MCU

I read leaks and they are basically giving us his son with shawty but still it’s very corny but at the same time the after death elements of every king of the past would be too much for everyone

You can’t do a black panther movie without the element of ancestors and T’Challa and Chad are ancestors that it’s still too soon to tap into

None of those actors died, so it is a different scenario.

Plus, any actor that steps up will be forever compared to Chadwick and the mental toll that it would bring with fans and the media may not be worth putting an actor through with the hope that it will work out.

:jbhmm:

But Heath Ledger, and the Joker, right (Jared Leto & Joaquin Phoenix)? :hula:

Sounds like a cop-out. Cacs at Disney are probably glad Chadwick passed so they could avoid putting any more non-sissified black males on the big screen.

Pretty much zero faith they'll bring Adam Brashear to the MCU now.

The first film made BILLIONS of dollars. And you want me to believe Disney is leaving future money on the table out of the goodness of their corporate hearts?

DC has a chance to bring in Mister Terrific and make that man a BEAST.
They’re just using this as an opportunity to cut a black man out of a paycheck.

Same reason why they killed off Killmonger in the first movie. Can’t have these negroes thinking there will ever be more of this, film was obviously going to flop right? :mjpls:

nikkas is insensitive as fukk. I mainly put this on Marvel for not pushing the dates back so crew and cast had time to mourn/heal, because none of them would've been able to accept a new actor playing Tchalla in this timeframe that Marvel expects for their timeline.
I honestly doubt they would’ve seen it that way.

If anything they’d help out and prop up the new actor.

Might’ve even been exponentially amazing considering if they were a$$holes they would have let the main cast vet the new T-Challa.

I'd rather them just not make another Black Panther movie than make a T'Challa less Black Panther film. I don't want to see the Shuri we got as BP (has nothing to do with the vax stuff the actress just tiny) or Killmongerer, M'Baku or any other established character. All this pissing around and going forward with the movie without recasting annoying, it's like saying we gonna fukk but we going to keep our pants on while being between a wall, no fukking thanks.

Can't compare this to Spider-Man where each Peter Parker had their run.

Also wouldn’t compare it to characters like the Hulk or Warmachine where the change was for professional reasons.

If they decided to replace T'Challa, I wouldn't have a problem. However I can't object to them waiting.

Death is a tough topic. It is a bit difficult to respect what someone committed to a role and then immediately go "Well the show must go on". It can send the message that the person is regarded as easily replaceable even if that isn't the intent.

You then need to consider the other actors who have worked with him.

It also has the potential to completely ruin an actor's career. Big shoes to step into and all of that.

I feel you breh, but they do see it that way. Don't want to get into it too much but I worked on the first one, and close to a lot of people working on the second one. That shyt HURT to lose Chadwick breh, and it's felt all through through the production of this one now. He wasn't just a actor, he was a genuine dude that effected every crew member personally. Wasn't emotionally possible to recast this soon but it was necessary to keep Wakanda in the timeframe of the Universe sadly.

I know y'all want a movie but these is real people too. shyt just ain't gonna be perfect in a situation like this.

Black panther wasn't supposed to be a hit. Disney probably facing international and local pressure. A female or a white man supposed to be the hero hero
