Surely they could have chosen some more educational/black-American-experience type of black movies, right? :ld:

I'd love to see School Daze in a theater.

But I mean if people are taking their black kids to see BP again and enjoy it as a family, it's whatever.

Malcolm x was a real person ffs

No offense but why are you being so obtuse?
Not being Obtuse you are actually, especially when you consider the fact the some of character expose the same message as Malcolm X.
It's really a petty argument. Basically you're saying movies shouldn't be made unless they're based on a true story. as if folk tales and fables from religion and culture haven't historically been just as effective in inspiring the masses as real people.

This is false, alot of the filming was done in Atlanta at Tyler Perry's Production studio.
IRRELEVANT

The PRODUCERS(you know, the guys who put up the MONEY for the film and thus receive all of the profits from it) ARE. WHITE.

Except for Tyler Perry who is black. You really trying hard AF to make this about white people. In that case name a film that would satisfy you're requirements? I'll wait.

Black panther was produced by kevin feige and David grant simpleton

NEITHER are black simpleton

Your self esteem is so low that not only are you clinging to this movie that white people received almost 100% of the profits from for the self identity that you never built for yourself in the first place, you never even bothered to look up the actual facts around the creation of the movie simpleton

CHAMPIONING =/= PRODUCING simpleton

And he didnt get any of the profits from the film PERIOD

He got paid BEFOREHAND, by the PRODUCERS

Who are WHITE

Some of yall are so lost it's really sad
:mjlol: before after whatever
He along with hundreds of other black people, profited directly off of this movie. period.
You act like even if there were zero white people involved you would still be mad because a white owned movie theater earned concessions income off of it's showings.

I'm saying that black panther is not black history and it speaks to your own severe lack of self esteem that even think it could COME CLOSE to comparing to malcolm x

Your posts are actually disrespectful as fukk in here

Incorrect

First of all, I'm now realizing that you don't know the actual definition of what a producer is smfh

All actors and studios are paid beforehand, meaning before the film has started PRODUCTION

Chadwick boseman was paid $3 million to play the lead character

Everyone else made less than him PERIOD

The movie grossed over a billion. None of the actors saw profits from the movie PERIOD

The entire concept of this character was created by and profited off of by white people PERIOD

Robert Downey junior was paid $50 million for a movie that grossed less

Black History Films aren't the only way to influence change so your point seems stupid and arbitrary to me. By this logic you should happy shouldn't be offended by the original birth of a nation movie since it was lies and propanga instead of real history. But the fact is movies, especially ones that become major cultural sensations become a historical event themselves. The day Black Panther was released is a historical event that will be remembered just like any real life action. If Malcolm was alive he probably would've went and saw this film with his grandkids and used it as a tool to inspire them.
