your parents give you what they have.
if their parents filled them with bullshyt they
are gonna hand down bullshyt if they dont
see through it.
it's your job to push the families name
uphill and give (your) children more.

stay from around small minded people man, stay away from the naysayers, your family, friends and parents that's telling u bullshyt, stay away from them. This life is a lonely road filled with snakes, vultures and sharks. U gotta use your sword and shield to fend them off as u walk the righteous road to your destiny. Don't tell these hating nikkas and esp these old nikkas anything. just do it and treat them like your coworkers. just keep a surface facade. smile, nod, agree and bounce
:wow:

i just learned that my so called 'friends' were finessing me the entire time. things have improved a whole lot since i stopped talking to snakes and what not. it's sad that people don't want to see you shine. people don't want you to be 'normal' and they would rather see you suffer. when you commit certain sins during your dark times, people will hold that against you. you think friends or family members would help you or provide some type of consulting, but that is not the case. these are the same people who think highly of themselves. i think people should understand the meaning of what an intervention is as i find it can be really helpful but people don't believe in that for some reason. they would rather analyze and criticize you until the day you die. i have also learned that people hate their own kind and that they would rather have some other type of skin color:palm:. it is so demonic, that people will always try to avoid the 'truth'. i too am afraid of the 'truth' but we all have to deal with it eventually. :mj:

Maybe some parents, but not mine. I was always encouraged to explore my interests, and never held back by detrimental attitudes like, "black people don't do that." However I have come into contact with black people (some within my own extended family) who do have attitudes like that. I've always rejected that way of thinking because I recognize that it will only stifle me as a human being. This is a big issue in the black community though. These invisible lines that we're not supposed to cross because, again, "black people don't do that." We're going to have to reject this way of thinking, and learn to appreciate those who may be unlike us. We have to utilize one another's unique perspectives and build from there. Together. Right now all too many of us do is alienate those who think different, talk different, or are different in any way, shape or form. There is no one black experience, and we should always encourage ourselves and others to challenge the status quo. I feel like my generation is starting to realize that, so that gives me hope!

It's true, but I don't blame them too much. That's all they knew and were taught. Get yourself a repetitious, low paying job, stay there forever, live paycheck to paycheck. That's all you're worth. White supremacy in a nutshell. Our parents were most def risk adverse, but you have to also take into consideration that a lot of our parents/grandparents had children/family way earlier than we did. You cant be talkin' that follow your dreams shyt when you have so much to lose. Plus, the internet is the great equalizer for us. We have so many resources, forums, books, content on the net to put us on game. They were limited to their immediate social circle.

You just gotta shut up and show them results. All of your dream talk gets quickly dismissed because they want to keep you safe. And they should, since they're your parents.
