I recently been reading a book about the Black Panthers called "Black Against the Empire." And it was sad to see our situation has not changed since the 60s. Black unemployment, police brutality, poverty, lack of resources, gentrification etc. Black people's progress in America has been stagnant. Why? The leaders alike MLK,, Malcolm,Fred Hampton and other black panther were assainated by the govt.
To be replaced with militant integrationist which became apart of the political establishment and told are our leaders. And these "leaders" really haven't done much years after MLK's death. They really had nothing to show for and is why young nikkas don't listen to them. Young people don't listen to failures because we want results. What has the black "leaders" from the 70s,80s,90s,2000s and now 2010s have to show for to the youth? Some of them are out of touch.
For example Congressman Lucas Civil rights icon wrote on Twitter after the Dallas shootings that when police would hit him upside his head back in 60s for protesting he would tell them "Thank you and have a good day."

He basically implied the turn the other cheek shyt which whites love because it makes black folk seem docile non threatening. He got Clowned on Twitter for that stupid ass statement. And white America love Congressman Lucas because he represent a safe negro that is fully assimilated and can a leader of black folks so no new black panther movement takes over. That is why black nationalist Farakhan and Khalid Muhammad are treated like fringe but militant integrationist are put on the forefront.
Add on this the crack era from the 80s and 90s which was a nuclear bomb on the black community was destructive. The good news we are slowly recovering from the crack era but it will probably take another 15-20 years for the community to be fully healed from that.
