I think these numbers are kind of misleading
There weren't half as many job opportunities in the 60's (especially for blacks), of course the number of "businesses" would be high, whether it's mom and pop stores or shoe shining cooperations
So this doesn't account for black fashion designers, lawyers, software engineers, etc who don't own businesses but are substantially better off
There needs to be focus on entrepreneurial endeavour, but saying that black people are perpetually stagnant is white supremacist rhetoric

they figured out that they best way to keep us down is to sell us the illusion that everything is 'getting better'
the media spews that magical word "progress" and black people eat it up. meanwhile we're still getting shot in the streets by police and our businesses are non existent

Some people acknowledged that the welfare state played a pivotal role in our decline. And in spite of this revelation they still give the democratic party their unwavering support. In spite of this revelation they still firmly espouse socialism and legislation which encourages dependency on government. People like @JudgeJoeGorilla who think big government is the silver bullet to eradicate all of our problems. All of those Bernie Sanders supporters who never took Econ 101.

You got a problem with that? I think the government should be fair. AKA redistribution of wealth.

Redistribution of wealth? So if I work hard and earn money some of that money should be given to other people who sit on their asses all day? How is that fair?
How is it fair that Millionaires & Billionaires don't pay their fair share of taxes? Hard workers like my parents for 40 years didn't sit on their ass all day.

Black people in the 80s and 90s made literally zero progress:yeshrug:

It wasn't 100% their fault but it's true :manny:

yea but the damage was already done by then....

basically everything gen x got blamed for was the boomers fault...

the REAL progress black folks made in america was in reconstruction...

all the way thru the harlem renaissance

not the fukkin 60s :heh:

Stats are bullshyt. Black families haven't had 80 per cent threshold for two parent households since the 30's. Ex.
"In New York City in 1925, 85% of kin-related black households had two parents" Wikipedia

Also, before anyone trashes Great Society Programs from the 60s, the Black poverty rate declined by 25 percent.
