Breh, you ain't lied. Too many people from the Civil Rights generation are taking more credit than they deserve for their participation (or lack thereof) in that movement.

Fast forward to the present, it's the same problem except NOBODY is taking the lead. :wow: I'll be damned if it's Messy Jackson or Al Charlatan who are defined as the leaders of our community. :pacspit:

Well, what hurts especially is that the likes of today, we have a lot of :mjpls: people growing up in the Katy Perry/ Jason Derulo era where the lines of race is blurred in the entertainment world. Problem is, racism still goes on and, like you said, no one of youth stands up against it anymore.

I was walking around the hotel and ordered some breakfast this morning and I had on a t-shirt, sweat pants, and flip-flops (what I slept in).

I'm sitting here doing work on the laptop and browsing TheColi (:youngsabo:) and this older black man (who is also a guest) told me that there's a dress code here and I should have respect for myself yada yada ya ya, eventhough everybody at the little resturant area basically were dressed down in a similar fashion :aicmon:

I told him that he was disturbing my work, so his ol' shuckin' ass goes to get a hotel employee, brought him back to my table and asked him, "Should he even be in here? :usure:"

The hotel dude is close to my age and we've chopped it up about sports and shyt the 2 days since I've been here and he basically had to tell Tobias that I wasn't breaking any rules and I'm a paying customer.

These old scared ass black birthed these New Black scaredy ass clowns :pacspit:

I see a lot of our people still caping for cacs despite all the nonsense going on in the world because of material things.

Our people still think this flashy useless crap is the answer to everything, despite being wrong all the time.

I'm done people, we are completely damaged/destroyed as a people, a lot of us can't recover from this.

U can't tell these "newblacks" nothing, they still caping for obama too. :why:
Typical coli race post. Post generic race shyt that everyone is aware of yet fails to provide any meaningful solution.

See, the first problem is that we look up to and praise the wrong people for doing the wrong thing. The entertainers and the entertainment industry in general should in no way, shape, or form be a barometer of our community's moral compass or progress. Sadly, however, we as a community keep giving these people our attention and, even worse, our dollars. :lupe:

The second problem is the idea that society is one big melting pot for people of different races. :childplease: If we keep living under the delusion that our community's racial history is immaterial and doesn't matter, then we've truly lost our sense of identity and have become an aimless people. This means we're subject to what dominant society deems is acceptable for us. This has already taken place with relatively minor issues such as, who can use the n-word, whether hip-hop is a black art form, and whether supposedly straight men can wear skinny jeans and skirts. :dahell:

Our community is under one hell of a jedi mind trick being conducted by dominant society. :demonic:

Yeah
I was at the theatre the other day and this girl kept yelling "yassssshhh beech yashhhhhhh"

After every damn scene :snoop:

I was so embarrassed because she was black and I just want my people to do better but I'm starting to realize some of us don't want to. Ignorance is bliss :mjcry:

Sorry if it's not related to the thread but I saw the title and it reminded me of it :wow:

I wholeheartedly agree with you, but a lot of these #newblacks don't see it and they are too forgiving of racism. Even in the 90s and early 00s, we still had black folks still making their own style of films like "Barbershop" and the like. Now, a lot of the #newblacks are on the notion that racism is dead and that the dominant society is right.

Besides, the likes of baggy clothes ain't "black." That shyt was stagnant and played out long before skinny jeans became popular.

I'm really thinking about moving from the states after I finish my schooling next year. The price to live on your own is impossible to keep up with if you make under 45k a year. I hate living here, real talk.

All of America has been completely brainwashed. The fact that we even talk about black and white is racism in itself. You look at our skin and none of us are actually black but we've been taught this since our time on this continent as a means of making us feel inferior. You can see the results of this slave mentality on this very site. Threads talking about dark skinned and light skinned and bi racial this and bi racial that. A lot of these posters are still thinking the way master taught us to. Some of these nikkas would be scared to look in the mirror if they knew there real ancestry - that's if they really hate whites like they lead us to believe. I personally love being black and wouldn't have it any other way but at the end of the day Im American too and wouldn't wanna live anywhere else. Theres very few countries where I could come home to my house I own where my wife and two kids are where I can play my PS4, watch my NFL and NBA and hold my nuts with one hand while I hold a Heineken with the other
