you nonados nikkas dont be knowing shyt, there have been black mayors, and nikkas have taken politics seriously, West coast blacks are some of the earliest ones to attest against immigration and how it negatively impacts ADOS people

Us too.

But, I'll admit LA black folk been more consistent with apposing the immigrant con game.

Black politicians out here these days be pandering to them.

Respectfully of course. Chicagos black renaissance was comparable to Harlems in terms of depth and contributions.
and to add on, unlike the Harlem renaiisance which featured ALOT of people not even from NY but rather from the South(Langston Hughes, Zora Neale) or the Midwest(Aaron Douglas)
who participated in the harlem movement.

alot of these people^^^^ in the harlem renaissance didnt even stay to die in Harlem people like Jean toomer moved somewhere else.

But on the other hand

Chicago featured alot of acts actually FROM chicago. in Lorraine Hansberry, Richard Wright, Gweendolyn Brooks(raised ,not born), etc

Chicago Renaissance actually had chicago people. now granted there were some migrants, but they were a fraction.
Unlike harlem which almost was all composed of migrants from the south and midwest

You also have to remember bruh, this bytch nikka @NewYorkIsBetterThanDallas is haitian, you know why hes trying to exaggerate Harlem:mjlol:

They in Stockton, San Bernardino, and Sacramento.

Really tho black cali took that energy to Vegas and AZ.

Those cities/towns :hubie:

NY black neighborhoods are much more energetic

This, 100000%

You can’t “lose” something you never had, dummy :mjlol:

Yea, outside of Oakland, not sure any city in Cali peaked passed 20% of the total population. Oakland IIRC is at about 20% Black, from a peak of over 35% like 20 years ago.

More black people are moving out west according to the census

As they should. Larger, more influential/prosperous black population elsewhere in the US (DMV, ATL, Charlotte etc).

If you aren't in certain industries in Cali as a black person, no reason for you to move here voluntarily.

NYC is the biggest city, so numbers for pops are always gonna be higher than with other cities.

2ndly, alot of those "black people" in New york are mostly not even ADOS. alot of them are caribbeans or africans. So they dont count.
IDK about this tbh...:patrice: Yea you got a lot of Africans and Carribeans in BK, but there's still Queen, BX and the City proper

majority of things i have heard is that BK as of now is hugely if not majority caribbean/NonADOS.

and places like BX is also the same, but still with a ADOS presence somewhat

queens, seems to be one of the last strongholds. from what i heard

I gotchu. My sister lives in Downtown BK and used to live in Park Slope in BK. From what she told me, BK definitely leaned heavily Caribbean and African, but most of the black population in NYC was still ADOS.

NYC is probably closest to DMV in terms of it's ADOS populations as a % of the total black population.

Lets be honest

In terms of energy no city can match pre-gentrifikatrina black New Orleans- Brass bands, Floats, Second lining, Indians, Bounce block parties, live music, 24/7 liquor/clubs, HBCU culture etc

That's a land slide

Not too many cities in the world can. You gotta go to brazil during carival to see NOLA in that department.
Damn wish I was alive to see it :wow:

and having the biggest pop dont mean alot without the impact, Chicago has lesser "blacks" than NYC in terms of raw numbers, but its undoubtely Chicago >>> New york. when it comes to black american ties.

Because it has had more impact on black american culture

That actually reminds me of a subject I kinda wish someone explored. I know most of the blacks in the midwest have family ties in Alabama, Mississippi and Texas where as black people in NYC are mostly from the Carolina's and Virginia.
It might seem close now but folks were brought in from different areas to do different things during antebellum slavery. You could have roots in Nigeria and be in Alabama and be from NC and have roots in the rice coast. At the end of the day
it's kinda subjective but at the same time there's thousands of years of culture/tribal stuff. That's where my mind goes when people are hard on immigrants.

I was agreeing with him. Cali just isn't for black people at this juncture. It is what it is cuz this state is beautiful and has great weather, but the community from what I've seen ain't it.
no your reading it wrong, cause thats not what he was saying he said

now I dont know where you went to school at

but a sentence like this implies nikkas is moving out west not moving out or that "Cali isnt for black people"

unless of course Voice meant something else, but i doubt it as he hasnt edited it

ahhhh I see. Moving out west like moving TO the west coast.

I read it as Blacks are moving out OF the West coat as in, moving away from.
