In order to be successful we basically have to befriend and go through whites, which suck the talent and educated black ppl from the community

I actually thought it was petty on the part of the straight students who chose to use that language. And it wasn't all of them, just a few. But it was enough to tear the group apart. There are a thousand ways to insult a cop. But they were so fixated and stubborn about using a gay slur that insulted members of their own group that they were willing to cancel the protest over it. That's pretty stupid. So you're suggesting that the gay students should just allow themselves to be misaligned and put in the same bucket as racist cops? I mean, I try to teach my students self-respect and dignity. There's no part of the struggle that demands we have to give that up, even for so-called unity.
