Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
I don’t trust family or friends when it comes to my business. I would rather them get experience and then I’d get them to come to my business when they have enough experience to manager or boss or something.

But from entry level he’ll no.

I don’t trust the closest people to me and I think me being a nice guy is the reason

I went to the Haitian bakery by my house. Father was teaching his young son the register, and the son was teaching his pops how to do shyt off the iPad

It's good to get children involved in things like that

Kid is gonna know how to run a bakery by 14

It really depends on how stable the business is. It's costly to hire employees and even more costly when they are terrible AND family. You're not only getting rid of an employee, but a person you may have to see at a holiday dinner (AWKWARD!) I think you should consider those family members who are serious about working; have the education and/or background. Other wise, pay them under the table so you can get rid of them quickly.

Everyone uses nepotism to a certain extent.

Other cultures RAISE their children to take over their businesses or follow in their footsteps. That's the first phase of nepotism. We do a really poor job of passing on our skills to our children.

Qualified strangers are absolutely fine. Actual experience, no entitlement and will work hard to get the work done.

Other than me hiring a family member for a top position I wouldn’t risk putting them in entry level until they can prove something to me.

A lot of people are also forgetting the fact that a lot of these kids who don’t have training are the result a lot of businesses fail after they were successful when their parents were alive!

I’m a firm believer that the “qualified” and most “hardworking” candidate should get the job.
