Online and talk? I (and a few other black americans) created a free school for black kids to learn how to code. You can go to Forest Lane and Audelia, in Dallas and find more about us. Look for Code Noir. We don't have an official space yet, but we are trying. We could sit and make excuses "But but but but...", but nah bro, we are trying to show our kids a better life.

If you have a black kid, nephew or cousin, from the ages of 10-18, just talk to us and he will learn to CODE FOR FREE.

"actually helping the community"...:mjlol:

So why would you choose to not have a moment of enjoyment if you are doing that? :patrice:

If you know it’s possible to have enjoyment and put in work then why are you shytting on those who choose to watch a movie?

My problem is not with the movie. Wake up brother. My problem is black people, using a movie concept created by a white mind, and promoting and marketing as a sign of black revolution. When there are a lot of black owned companies, down for the cause, that don't get the same marketing and support from our people.

How are you okay with this?

His post reminds me of when Empire was hot there was a meme talking about "While y'all was watching Empire I was busy building one" both statements are corny to me but so is people making BP more than it is. It's a comic book movie at the end of the day I get that it's done with a black cast and director but still.

We can’t even enjoy a fukkin movie without y’all hoteps comin through with this bullshyt:mindblown:

Should we just live like monks or some shyt? Sit in hours, read all day, and get zero entertainment?

Well, that question isn't wrong.

But. If you give the people a leader, then he will promise to lead them to land. But, if you give the people a vision, then they will reach the Promised Land.

Nothing wrong with inspiration being entertaining. As long as it does more than inspire you to brag about how all you did was spend $20 that day and got no ROI from it.

IN MY MIND, all forms of entertainment, related to black people, should be owned by us. The majority of the money should go to our pockets.

Is that the case? Is that what is happening?

But who is making Black Panther out to be a sign of revolution? That's a straw man that you need to light on fire. I'm glad that you are doing the coding thing but how about this: why can't a young black child who has taken your coding boot camp also see Black Panther and be inspired to create a future based on what he or she has seen? Escapism has influenced the future in more ways than one, several white inventors and billionaires weee inspired by Star Trek and other forms of pop culture fantasy. You're setting up a false choice that doesn't even need to be made.

I didn't know it was that easy to build a society from scratch. Wonder who he'd vote for to govern it. and how easy everyone else will agree on that, no wars coming from that at all.

Make all of the excuses that you want, but no other group would allow themselves to be so dependent from other groups. To make a movie, you need them. For cars, you need them. For houses, you need them. For cellphones, computers and other electronic gadgets, you need them. "But but but...It's just entertainment you hotep fakkit"

Lmao, it is escapism, you rather live in a fictional world than actually change the current state of our people. Because doing that, starts now and cutting things you see as vital, when they actually mean zero.
No other group went through what black people went through.

Also, who said some of the shareholders for these studios weren't black? You're under the assumption everything is white, but have you done your research?

Robert L Johnson has a HUGE share of Weinstein Studios which produces a lot of the black films, I've heard he owns up to 50%.

I bet most of you didn't even know he was the major owner for the Charlotte Bobcats, but if you ask that hotep "oh it's white owned" just assuming every single black person sits around broke like him. You'd be quite surprised how many powerful black people are behind the scene. Black Panther isn't charity work, their are black people who brewed the idea and contributed heavily to the movie. Studios are not owned by a single person, they are ran by board of directors and shareholders. Now I'm not saying those seats aren't full of jews, but to assume no black people sit at that table is naive.

Have you started a thread on this? If not, why not? Surely you realize that's more helpful than telling people to spend any and all surplus money they have on donations to things you feel are important. I wonder if the same people using that 'If black people just x, we would have y' mantra apply that to their own lives. Like every time you go out to eat, did you go to a black owned restaurant? Did they source their ingredients from black farms? How did you get there? Uber? Not a black owned taxi organization? Where'd they get their cars from? Which factory?

The list of questions could go on. OR instead of taking a magnifying glass to people's finances/choices, you can let people watch a $13-$24 movie, and not try and pocket watch every dime black people may or may not be spending.

Imo fans invite this crazy criticism with all the misplaced " black excellence" talk. Lol, its just a cool movie, not the second coming of MLK.

I get the excitement. It's coming from a major studio, has a big budget, will see a wide release, has a black director (a black writer too I think) and a black cast. It's also the last piece in completing a story spanning 17 movies.

Brother, you are not fully wrong. But don't you think, that this movie and the promotion that it is getting from us, is basically a sign of low trust that we have in each other, and how dependent we are on other groups? Let's be real, would a movie like this, created by a black mind and black owned company, get the same support and euphoria?

AND YES, there are a lot of people making this movie look like some kind of revolution. Like it is going to change most of the things, and blacks are going sit and try to work most of their problems.

Would the chinese or indians, celebrate like crazy, a concept about them, created by blacks?
