Give away your freedom and ownership of your property, just so you can make sure all neighbors cut the grass on time brehs.

Because thats really the only value you get out them. They'll make sure nobody has an unkempt lawn with abandoned cars parked on the street.
But most decent nieghborhood are already capable of that on their own

Only value from HOA you really get is if their is a community rec facility that they manage for everyone, and simple charge a fee for that service.

it's hard to avoid the HOA's in many states. especially if ur living somewhere where they are building new housing. in the united states about 70-80% of new home constructions have HOA, so either u be in the HOA or

like I said, where I live, we don't have HOA's, but then again, I live in the city, and they don't typically build new housing. they take the old housing and rehab them into new. this is how my house was when I got it, and it's over 100 years old.

HOA's are a way for new communities to avoid directly having you pay the municipalities for services like police/fire/roads/snow plowing/infrastructure and put that directly on the homeowners. I think it's a scam, cuz my property taxes pay for all these services, so folks in the HOA are kinda paying double, since they still gotta pay property taxes as well.

Why are these stories always in Florida? Wtf is wrong with that state.
It’s racist, what else could I tell you?

:yeshrug:

One more thing: Florida has a lot of transplants so the sense of community isn't as strong as in some other states. Because many people are new to the area, the local culture can be inconsistent and social interactions may vary more than in places with long standing populations.

That Hoa is clearly doing everything possible to get them to move. My dad was dealing with the same issues, he got a lawyer and they backed off quick.

It's actually really easy to get on the board of an HOA. Just show up on an election and have one neighbor cosign you. It's pretty much just a position you only need to show up to get. I was on the HOA for my community for 4 years. Of course as soon as I leave the HOA fees go up tho. These old cacs were always looking for some dumbass reason to raise fees wholetime we got 2m's in excess money that's constantly growing:snoop:

Facts. I have my best friend and my fiancee installed as president and vice president of the HOA solely by virtue of showing up consistently to meetings. :dead:

This is a great idea.

To have your chick be on the HOA board instead…

Homes I’ve seen lately have about $600 a year in HOA fees, which isn’t bad to me, bjt I’m wondering about having any HOA fees at all. Everyone has basically told me not to get into neighborhoods with HOA’s, but thats like all there is out here to purchase. Especially in the cookie cutter homes in Texas.
