Pumpkin pie is more of a white american dish whereas sweet potato pie is traditionally black american. They both taste good, I just like pumpkin better.

I emigrated to Canada when I was 4 so some of the things that I do are influenced by Canadian culture because I’ve been living here majority of my life. My sister often teases me and says I’m not Jamaican even though I was born there and she was born here . To her the things I do wouldn’t be considered “black” or “Jamaican” but at the end of the day that’s my cultural background and I don’t feel like I should conform to cultural norms because it somehow makes me less than what I am if I don't.
