RIP:snoop: this can't be life.

A black security guard this weekend prevented a potential mass shooting at the bar where he worked — and was then gunned down by an Illinois police officer who mistook him for a criminal.

WGN TV reports that 26-year-old armed security guard Jemel Roberson was working at Manny’s Blue Room Bar in Robbins, Illinois on Sunday morning when he was attacked by a gun-wielding man whom witnesses say had been kicked out of the bar earlier in the evening.

Roberson returned fire on the man and managed to subdue him and pin him to the ground.

However, when a Midlothian, Illinois police officer showed up on the scene, he opened fire and killed Roberson because he thought Roberson was the true assailant.

“Everybody was screaming out, ‘he was a security guard,’ and they basically saw a black man with a gun and killed him,” witness Adam Harris tells WGN TV.

The Midlothian Police Department has so far released very little information about the shooting and is only confirming that one of its officers was involved. According to WGN, the State Police Public Integrity Task Force is running an investigation of the officer’s decision to open fire on Roberson.

Pastor Patricia Hill of Chicago’s Purposed Church tells WGN TV that she’s horrified to see another young black man fatally shot by police despite the fact that he had risked his own life to prevent a potential mass shooting.

“Once again it’s the continued narrative that we see of shoot first, ask questions later,” she said.

That’s so sad. That’s why the armed security jobs aren’t worth it because at the end of the day you aren’t law enforcement. Your putting your life in the line every time you holster your gun, for a job given by white zaddy. Not worth it IMO. The cop that killed the brother should be fired immediately, no need for no “internal investigation” and a paid suspension that they always love to do. Fire that cac now.

the thing is, the cop who killed him won't get in trouble. He'll be suspended, maybe even fired. with pay. Then get another job in the next district over.
Now any other job, even armed forces like the army, if you accidentally killed someone, doesn't matter how or why. you will get some sort of court marshal or manslaughter charge and serve time in prison. And once you get out will be unable to work in that career ever again.

I use army as an example because people like to give Cops a pass and say its a dangerous high stress environment. So? I know people who discharged from the army for showing signs of PTSD. didn't even do anything wrong. Army just said, :patrice:nah we can't trust you with a weapon anymore :camby:

you can't go into any other military branches either :umad:

But with Cops its like, being fired is really just getting a paid vacation before being transferred.

One thread has a brother losing his life for stopping alongside a road to offer assistance to a stranded motorist. This thread is about a brother being gunned down for simply fulfilling the duties of his job as a security guard. Black people have to stop thinking we're playing by the same rules.

Those southwest chicago suburbs are

:mjpls:

Midlothian is like 60% black though. Right next to Robbins and Posen which I believe were suburbs founded by blacks.

I want to know what became of the intial gunman and what he looked like.

He was shot but survived and was taken into custody. Breh died for nothing really.

Edit: The bar is in Robbins which is all black.

RIP to breh. This a sad story. I am aware of this fact with police. Besides being black I look like the bad guy. I get called Kimbo, I get called CT Fletcher, asked if I went to school, ask if I'm Muslim, asked how much I bench etc so I know people are judging me from my appearance. Nothing I can do about it but make sure my shirt says security on it and badge ID showing

:rip:

Well Damn:francis: ...even more so when I think about the kroger shooter who was stopped by a black man with a gun out with his wife to get supplies for their sons b'day.

SIDENOTE: I always thought that's how "get out" should have ended if they wanted to be honest about America and give the movie lasting relevance :jbhmm:
