not every school is miami university. you want to see your school grow, trim the fat, find a specialization, make sure your freshmen stay at your school til graduation, make sure your grads get jobs, and make sure that they reinvest
sports really aren't helping anyone not in a power conference
and everywhere is racist. there's just varying degrees of bullshyt that you can or can't tolerate while you're on the road to bettering yourself to the point where you can actually do something about it.
