yeah the writing lines is pretty unproductive anyway….I didn’t realize how awful a lot of my teachers were and the shytty teaching/disciplinary methods they used until I started teaching

one thing that was ridiculous to me from an educator’s standpoint tho was having a principal tell me I shouldn’t recommend holding a student back bcuz I was doing it “for spite”…her “reasoning” was it wasn’t fair of me to suggest holding him back for not doing any work all year (literally none) bcuz we don’t know if he’s capable of doing the work since he didn’t do any lmao…I just decided I wasn’t gonna argue with this crazy bytch as a first year teacher and just let the student pass smh

I didn’t watch the whole video but I definitely wouldn’t teach in certain schools due to the lack of discipline/support from administration…I would prefer working at a school in a “middle income” area that has a decent population of black students

Above the fray.
Sis hit the nail on the head in the opening few sentences. PARENTING.

Parents knowing that you are causing disruptions/not following rules in school would be the biggest fear for a student with good parents.
They would figure out a way to correct your behavior. The school punishment would be nothing compared to disappointing your parents.

Will never understand people that actually need to go into a job and fail before realizing it's not for them.

How many years of her life have been wasted?
How else would you know that the day to day job duties are not for you until you experience?
People get burned out or disillusioned in all lines of work over the course of years.

Very interesting that there appears to be a large audience for this content (some vids with over 200k views).

Enrolment in educator preparation programs, both traditional and alternate are down significantly as well. Some difficult times ahead for education in the United States…

I get becoming disillusioned or jaded over time when the job or operating environment no longer resembles what it once was.

But quitting because you realise there are bad-ass kids you need to teach and can't really discipline is a strange one for me. It's literally one of the core challenges of the job unless you're teaching at a top 1% school. I could have told her this when I was 19 years old.

It's like going into Investment Banking and being shocked you need to work weekends or becoming a cop and realizing that not everybody is going to be pleasant with you.

Unfortunately when you try to discuss it all the blame gets placed on the absent father. :mjpls:

Shut up she just sounds like a whiner.

Some people are just not cut out for teaching.

Teachers and nurses are the biggest group of complainers out there.
They complain for a reason it ain’t like they making shyt up out of thin air. They signed up for it but it’s still okay for them to talk about they experiences
