Having a kid young only works out if you stop having kids. I know cats who started at 16 and haven't stopped. For context, I'm 38 and I have friends who are my age with kids ranging from 18 to 3. My cousin is a grandmother at 41 and helping to coparent.

Let’s face it. The black community has a very shortsighted perspective on life, and doesn’t plan for the future. This is why we will have gym memberships, but no life insurance for our kids. We’ll drive a used BMW, but own no property. Most of the people answering were raised in single parent households, and those women are baby mamas like their mothers. The argument for having kids young is being able to be free and party in your mid thirties. That’s all they care about. Not stability, not raising a productive member of society, not getting an education, just fun.
