:dwillhuh:

- why does the black mans "obsession" over light skinned women need to be discussed when you don't care? where is this constantly berating of black women taking place outside of your head?

- here we go with the rap music defense. besides the two rappers that are always on the tip of your tongues (wayne and berg), who are all these rappers insulting black women? funny part is rappers are some how dissing yall when in another instance, they aren't even acknowledging yall cus they're too busy praising "xyz" women.

news flash, colorism has existed for hundreds of years in this country, rap music is only 35-40 yrs old tops.

- chick, this is not kumbaya, this is war. y'all love to link up and pretend there's solidarity with light skinned/biracial women until there's a beauty contest. then yall are hell on all these "light skinned bytches that think they cute"

third time asking, what is there to discuss? colorism exist, women are affected as well, even though you want to pretend its strictly a black male issue. but once again, what is there to discuss exactly? you wont be able to speak it away with harsh words and wagging your finger in disgust.

-I care about their obsession with bashing dark skin women not their obsession with light skin.& Look around you.Look in real life, look on the internet. Why are you trying to act like black men don't sh*t on dark skin women? It happens ALL the time. You are ignoring the elephant in the room.
-I actually listed wayne & YG.& They do both.If they are not bashing dark skin women they are praising non-black women.JUST LOOK at the new music that is out"Trey Songz "Foreign," Jason Derulo "talk dirty."All songs which talk about exotical women.& That's just me naming a COUPLE.& Then there's the songs who keep shouting out white girls (& they are not talking about cocaine).
-Who initiates that beauty contest between the shades?BLACK MEN.& Miss me with this "jealous," dark skin women myth.
-The constant bashing of dark skin women needs to be discussed.

Do you agree that it affects them predominantly?
Cause blacks don't have racism on lock neither.
I wouldn't agree that black women experience colorism predominantly. All of that is besides tw point anyway. Black wine like you both need to stop trying to paint yourselves as bigger victims than black men all the time. shyt is weak and pathetic.

- i asked you a question, where do you YOU hear all this dark skinned black woman slander. i've never heard it offline and only from less than a handful of people online. (and by less than a handful, i mean just tommy sotomayor) so tell me where you hear all this hatred?

- "bashing dark skinned women" and praising non-black women are not the same. but that boils down to a preference you don't care about, so why do those select songs matter? your best example of black men being colorist are rappers cant just be wayne & yg. you have to have a long list to make such a generalization, right?

- the beauty contest has been going for over a century and it wasn't started by black men. as another poster pointed out, women pit themselves against other women to be competitive in the dating market.

- i've never heard black woman bashing offline or on national tv, the best example you've got is a few youtubers like sotomayor. meanwhile, black women are on worldwide news outlets like cnn and huffington post telling the world black men aint shyt -- and that's been going on a lot longer than 4-5 yrs.

I am not painting myself as a victim I observe what affects group more so than others. It just so happens the topic of interest is black women. Call it black whine cause I didn't mention black men as the victors of the struggle olympics. This whole whole forum is a think tank for some of brehs to complain about white men but call me a whiner cause I call it how I see it.

You're the one trying to make it a competition. What difference would it make who's more effected? The point is that both sexes are victims and perpetuators of colorism so black women like the poster you're defending acting as if they're the only victims and black men are the only perpetuators of colorism is not what's up.

I see more so done by your brethren than women. Black women ccollectively know and understand how bad black men have it but that is often not reciprocated. Honest observation...the black community issues are centered on black male issues.

So you mad that black women want the same status in their men that they see in White women but want to decry black women on what they are lacking relative to their white female counterparts under the guise of 'preference'.

i already understand black women wont act right until black men are in positions of power. :yeshrug:

but when i look at the scale, rebuilding a broken community vs personal happiness; it's a lot easier for black men to get a non black chick and move off to the burbs.

Likewise with black women just one is justified in your eyes and the other is demonize. How convenient for these men to leave the waste behind like a sucker aren't men suppose to lead and build. These are type of dudes I don't respect, leave the work for someone else and then want to reap benefits of what someone actually work to build.

I take your "honest observation" with a :mjlol: grain of salt. What "black male issues" are the black community centered around:lupe:

i don't think either are justified, but the difference is no one is putting the burden and responsibility of fixing the community on the women. y'all want to blame men in their teens, 20s and 30s for problems that have existed in our grandfathers time. pretending we're the reason the race is in its current state just causes a strong level of disdain.

and when it comes to solving the issues blacks collectively face, suddenly black women are submissive creatures, waiting on black men to raise up and lead. yet in
any other context, especially in the home -- black male leadership must be questioned and demonized
