For example I'm letting my best friend stay at my house rent free for 6-8 months and only charge him 500 a month after that, the goal is to help him save 100k so he can but a house in the bay area.

I get what you're saying but this is a wrong conclusion. Education is an absolutely strong force that can help close the wealth gap. It's obviously not the only way but a primary one

Cutting discounts for your buddy is not gonna create some mass movement of economic prosperity like education can.

This is one thing black people and indigenous people were late to realize. The European and Asian have spent millennia fighting each other and strategically fighting for resources. Whenever they would meet a new group of people they would bring those same attitudes and tactics to the situation. They never played fair, and they still do it to this day. They look at the resources in an area first and plan to take control of it away from the original people in the area.

Actually it could, if all of us who can does, property gives you instant equity in most case especially if you buy in a up in comming area or a already attractive area, refinance you become your own bank and loan to yourself to buy property or invest.

That's how I did, I stayed with my parents for a year, 20k bour my first house, that's turned into 150k, and that's increased my worth to around 700k...so yes it can be done, I'm doing it.
