my cousin used to live in the netherlands but moved to belgium. according to him it's much better in belgium, but it depends where you move. they have brussels, which is mixed and then they have a french speaking part and a dutch speaking part. the dutch part is racist as fukk, so make sure you're moving either to brussels or the french speaking part of belgium. if you go to the netherlands, move to amsterdam, that's the most diverse city of the country. don't go to france.

I've had that happen to me in France, was on a university campus with my boy, who's black as well, exact same scenario happened. What's funny is I know for a fact we was the only two dudes in a 20 mile radius not holding drugs, all the white dudes looking like :merchant:. But that shyt was so fukking blatant I had to just laugh it off.

Big part of the reason why I could never get into soccer, and I grew up here. fukking worthless racist ass ignant ass fans:snoop:

it's so blatant because they think it's perfectly normal. i asked them if they noticed that out of all the blond and blue eyed people on the train they could have controlled they chose me. they said "yes". then i asked "am i really looking that dangerous to you guys?" and they said "yes!". :damn:

black people are good here in sweden :manny:

was racially abused as a kid on a trip in austria though :damn:

a cac flew in to save me though and told the old man to take a taxi if he had a problem with people on the bus :whew:
didn't you have some sniper going around and shooting black people in sweden? or was that somewhare else?

Yeah, but he wasn't shooting only blacks, he was shooting at foreigners in general. Thats pretty isolated though, the majority of people doesnt have anything against blacks, atleast not in the open.

to tell the truth most people are so scared of being labeled a racist that they overcompensate by being so nice it's ridiculous lol

Go to parts of Europe and you'll think you are back to pre civil rights era.

I mean tons of stuff to see in Europe. But I ain't nice to them fukkers. Esp since they don't appreciate it like they do round these parts.

Why no France?

I've traveled to Paris multiple times when I was younger. It's pretty cool. Funny enough, its very similar to NYC: the most diverse city in France, certain parts of town have ended up being divided by ethnic background (Chinatown, areas with mostly Jews, areas with mostly Arabs, black folks, etc) super cosmopolitan, and NOT cheap. Like NYC, it's a great place to live if you got the money for it.

EDIT: Doesn't mean Paris (and France as a whole) doesnt have it's issues. The french can be passive aggressive when it comes to the issue of race. Unlike white ppl here, they are a lot more direct about it, if that makes sense. France's stagnant economic situation hasn't helped either. That, however, applies more to the older generation. The younger folks are far more open.

You may also encounter some racial profiling from the cops but overall, it's nothing new from what we experience stateside.

Paris is def an awesome place though, I plan on going back there for NYE. I'd check it out (as well as the rest of France and/or the other countries you mentioned)to get a clear perspective of it though. You may have a different opinion of it.

BTW, if you want to trave and/or move anywhere in France, learn as much French as you can. Makes a lot of difference. Especially if you are American.

France ain't no utopia either bruh, but they're much more focused on Arabs/Muslims. That's the right wing's boogeyman, they don't know how to act right now. Still it's not in the same ballpark as some of the countries mentionned in this thread.

Very good point. Yea, they focus a lot more on Arabs and Muslims over there. And indeed the right wingers over there are ham on them. The economic situation hasn't helped at all either.

Another thing to mention also (based on my experiences and others, someone correct me if I'm wrong): your nationality can trump your race when it comes how they treat you. For example. a person of color who is American or canadian or another "1st world" will most likely be treated better than a person of color from an African country or turkey, etc. in some cases they'll outright treat you based on your nationality rather than your race. Of course, that's assuming they know that you are from such countries and it doesn't mean racial discrimination doesn't exist. It's there and one should be ready for it.

I hope what i said makes sense. It trips me out sometimes (I'm black from the us).

100% true bruh, there's no doubt about that. If you from the States you still gonna encounter the same shyt that all Black ppl/foreigners go through all around the world, but as soon as they hear you speak they gonna be :gladbron:. My pops is from Southside Chicago, and one of his best friends here is from Senegal. My pops comes up at the bar to buy a drink, everybody like :ohhh: :leon: :bryan: :dj2:. His African friend asks for something people like :comeon:

:deadmanny: @ your story, damn lol. It's pretty crazy. I always maintained that of all the groups in US that would benefit the most from traveling (cuz all Americans need to travel overseas more in general) it would be black folks. Fact is, we're just not that common outside of the US since we don't travel like that. Many folks overseas that stare at us do so because for the part they only saw us on TV.

Black Americans must understand that most of the world doesn't see us the same way many in the US do. That's very important.
