Congrats on your appointment OP. Best of luck overseas.

Just a general question for everyone that's from/been through Germany. I'm sure most Germans also speak English but did any of you learn the language before you went or while you were there? Did folks react to you differently depending on which language you used?

Just try it. You can travel to other European countries pretty easily. Congrats if you go. Logistics seems like a good gig from the peeps that I know are in it. If all else fails you should have no problem getting a gig back in America if you don't like it. Also if you live most of the year in a foreign country your income is tax free up to almost 100k. :manny:

Yes google Foreign earned income exclusion. Your future company may have someone in place already who is familiar with the process or other expats could help...

We learn English in school. It's mandatory.
Of course there are some people that still can't speak English especially older people. If you talk to somebody and they can't help you just ask the next person. They'll most likely be able to help you.

:salute: to OP

To all brehs saying that black people aren't hated in there. I always heard this from cac friends who went to there. And I always thought that it was some BS and cacs cacing.

But seeing you nikkas saying that this is true. I got on some :ehh:

See, I am a south Brazilian. Here being black really difficults to things like pull women, because of classic stereotypes and white washing.

I mean I can pull due to good game. But goofy cacs always be pulling cuz of the white privilege.

And it's funny to hear that a full cac country kinda welcomes better a black guy.

(But I bet that if a lot of blacks went there in some migration thing, the :mjpls: will appear)

Germany is cool, the people are cool...

as regards to racism in Europe the places I would say to avoid are Italy and Russia....

Theres racism everywhere so don't let anyone fool you into thinking that its only a problem in the states....... the difference is in certain countries its more in your face....

personally i don't give a flying fukk about whether someone is racist or not.....Im not allowing anyone to derail my mission, as long as they don't ever try to disrespect me in any way shape or form its all good

:wow:i loved my time in europe.
was there multiple times, recently from 2009-2012.
i don't know what it'll be like for a person who has no contacts in germany.
i also speak german, so that made everything a lot easier.
i have a number of friends in germany, so i always had someone i knew with me on most of my trips.
personally, i love germany. yeah, sometimes i would walk and see nothing but white people for hours,
which is strange when you come from a country where the majority is black,
but from my personal experience not once was i involved in a racist incident.
black people, for the most part, are friendly and are very willing to help out a fellow brother.
usually you get an acknowledging head nod from fellow blacks as you walk down a street.:myman:

obviously there are some areas you should avoid, like in any country, especially as a tourist.
i hope you have some people who can help you out with that.
otherwise, i hope you enjoy your stay in europe (if you decide to go)
:salute:
