The reason why she sold 3+ million was of a marketing campaign that was A1, being absent for 4 years, catchy lead single + video, and mainly the choice of not taking it to stream sites. Man, the millenials were tight they couldn't listen on spotify. So they also bought the album.

Dude just sounds a little hurt, mad she played the game how it was meant to be.

And because she's white and gets that 'white girl with a big voice' push

Adele sound is not r and b. Her music isn't marketing towards an r and b audience. Just because she has a great voice doesnt mean she is r and b. When christina aguilera first came out with genie in a bottle, they tried to say she was r and b. Since then, she started making more pop friendly records. Look at pink. Same thing, Her sound was r and b. Second album changed it to pop. I dont know who to blame. Black media for trying to make these POP ARTISTS r and b. WE need to realize that Adele is pop not r and b.

Her music is played on the r&b stations tho. It doesn't matter if you personally think her music is songs in the key of the fukking Flying Spaghetti Monster, her songs are played on the r&b/soul stations so she is ultimately taking the spot of an r&b/soul artist.

Idk why people keep assuming this is a girl. Dudes aren't fans of r&b?

And you have poor comprehension skills for thinking that he's mad at Adele. He's mad at the agenda behind it, not the artist. It's not rocket science. Dismissing those tweets as "oh he's mad" is what you nikkas do every time someone refuses to fall for the bullshyt. It's like it's uncool to be awhere of the agendas behind most things. No one likes a fake deep fake woke nikka that has no plans to improve the things he complains about. understandable. But nothing he said is fake deep. It's a simple and in your face explanation of the state of r&b. And not that it really matters but the dude who tweeted that shyt is in music marketing or some shyt (he's vague with what he does) and he's hugely knowledgable about urban music and the business from the things I've seen him tweet so I'm 75% the nikka isn't just complaining about some shyt he isn't willing or attempting to fix

But let y'all tell it, he's "angry" and "trying too hard to be different

Two stupid umbrellas terms you nikkas use to define any kind of attempt at analysis that makes sense

These nikkas are literally brain dead and couldn't critically think their way out of a fukking paper bag.

10-12 yrs ago somebody flawlessly executed the plan to completely marginalize R&B as a genre.

The 1st step was to fracture it by dividing it into sub-genres.
2. take the less pop/upbeat songs and slowly remove them from urban radio and onto Adult/Contemporary stations
3. give even more airplay to rap/r&b collabs
4. make hiphop the official genre of black people under the age of 35... which opened the door for...
5. pop artist with hiphop beats to get urban radio play which open the door for...
6. white pop artist who make adult contemporary/r&b-ish music to get called soul artist.

Its a cold world. The execs will say actual R&B doesn't sell, yet they'll call Sam Smith an R&B/soul artist :martin:. I just feel if the Elle Varners and Janel Monets got the same kind of promo/budget they'd be legit stars. The days of being a R&B star is just over and black music as a whole is worse for it.
There was no ulterior motive. Rap just kept on getting bigger and bigger and our generation and down started caring less and less about R&B

All the people you name get played on R&B radio stations.

That music doesnt fit the urban contemporary hiphop stations anymore

Jazmyn does at times.. but not the rest. Jill last album was gospel infused.

Come on yall, dont act like Jerimih and Omarion and people like that songs aint played 24/7.. come on now..

I never understood how the British were allowed a free pass to copy and paste Black soul music and just get away with it..
The same millions of Americans seemed stunned by British cats playing the Blues.
You'd think the shyt didn't originate here :dead:

Made the Rolling Stones and The Beatles as well as many others millionaires while their heroes
could only dream of such riches !
I wouldn't be surprised of 20 to 30 years from now British people bring boom bap back to the masses :dead:

The way these dummies keep going on about "Black Radio" and "Black fans" makes it sound like y'all have been
WAY, WAY out of touch. :dead:

Ever heard of Clear Channel ? Every heard of how closely related they are to the big media conglomerates ?
DO you realize just how much of radio they control ? "Black Radio" as @DANJ! pointed it out practically doesn't exist anymore.

I wonder if people felt the way you did when Hall and Oates was doing the same in the 80s. Or Amy whinehouse last decade. Is it the success that pisses people off?

:russ: white americans who weren't from the south were oblivious to the roots from which the British Invasion cats got their sounds from. The Brits were more aware of the roots of black american music than them:mjlol:

I remember numerous articles on cultural appropriation popping up when Winehouse blew up.
