I actually want to know, is there some that make black people despise other blacks? I grew up Canada but I never had any ill feelings towards anyone that was African Canadian or Caribbean Canadian. But on various sites, i.e the Coli, Bossip, Mediafakeout, BlackSportsOnline, you see a whole bunch of people bash and make fun of the black community and from their profiles you can see they are black. I actually want to know what type of social conditioning, or environment makes people think like that? Why are posters like Chris.B and the like they way they are?

There's plenty of books and scholars that break down why black people have self hate issues. It stems from the slave mentality, which is to hate everything from where your from. So regarding appearance, more European features are held on a pedestal(hair, nose, light skin). You'd rather buy from another race than your own. All other races money circulate in their communities. Black people spend money outside of their communities. You'd believe some information from a white person, rather than believe it from a black person etc... The media reinforces this also...

Chris B is a troll btw... He says he's Ghanaian but yet he can't find a Ghanaian girl and stay shytting on black women.

Sad, I don't know. I had such a hard time from black Americans when I grew up. Most of my close friends are black American women, and I've dated a lot of black American guys, even tho I do prefer to date African or Caribbean, but it was definitely a tough time growing up.

I don't hold any animosity, even though I know a few African people who do.

I think its alot easier in Canada. Canada has the whole image of "the mosaic" and different cultures are accepted for the most part.

While in the states they had the slave mentality hardcore. They had ghettos, concrete jungles. I remember Malcolm X's autobiography saying blacks would be afraid to rob whites and would stick to robbing other blacks. Rapes and crimes in general, happen within the race itself. Whites rape whites, blacks rape blacks.

Also it would seem segregation is still very much the norm in the States as opposed to in Canada where it's common to have multiple cultures living and interacting together.

I think in the end, they are upset about the conditions they are in and lash out against those around them who are also in the same condition, if not worse. It's sad breh. We need unity.

And then there's the ratchet phenomenon. SMH. How do we remedy this?

Its not only a black thing. A lot of whites hate being white, ditto with asians and what not.

F*ck, its not even a racial thing. I know Irish, Polish, British, American people whom despise their fellow compatriots. Self hatred is a common human trait.

Its disingenuous to label it soley as a black phenomenon.
