Like I said ain't no way the owner blowing up that team unless he getting equal value back. He is not taking loses after bailing the league out and buying that team for 2 billion.
CP3 knows that ain't too many teams as good or as talented as the clippers. Unless he can somehow play with the thunder (which ain't gonna happen because they ain't trading equal value and if they did the thunder won't be better than the clippers plus KD won't agree with the trade) ain't too many teams he can go to that are talented enough (plus experienced enough) to win right now. On top of that Blake and deandre are only 27 each and will be 28 next season. Not like those Kats old as hell.
Best bet for CP3 is see what doc and the owner is able to do the next couple of years with the salary cap increase.
It has nothing to do with the owner, it has to do with CP3. If a player demands a trade, they have to pretty much trade him. He has an easier path in the east than the west, even if he stays in the West. Clippers are not going through Warriors or Spurs any time soon. They have tried this nucleus for a while now and it's not working out. They have tried to surround their "big 3" with every other piece and non of them have worked out. It's not like they are losing in the finals or WCF, they are losing early. At some point, you need a change and CP being a competitive guy will want one. He is not getting any younger. Also there were tons of Blake trade rumors this year, there is definitely talk out there.
So what are the clippers gonna get from Miami? Let's say the Cavs win the Championship why would they trade Kylie? This season hasn't even played out and Kylie is the leading scorer on the Cavs this playoff run (4 games).
They can get Dragic, Winslow..etc. Blake will be their main guy instead of CP3 then. They play way better when one of them is not playing, and they fix their wing situation they desperately need. The Cavs trade obviously won't happen if Cavs win. Bron is desperate to win a championship, Kyrie has been great so far in the playoffs but if he struggles later on and they lose..Cavs might consider it.
When I said handpicked this team and roster I specifically was speaking of Blake and DeAndre, though most of this team's core came together the year before Doc came. Doc fukked up the bench after the team was already primed for a championship run, but that's irrelevant. I don't think CP will want to demand a trade to a new situation because he's too prideful, and honestly if he goes somewhere where his role is changed at this point in his career he'll probably be Deron Williams status
Idk about pride, I just think he wants to win..we will see how Doc handles this offseason. This is easily their most important offseason
