You're telling me Mario whatever the fukk wouldn't move the needle a bit?

They did say Mario Kart was the biggest seller on Switch 1. That's why they made a new one for Switch 2. You're telling me Mario Odyssey 2 or Mario Infinite wouldn't move the needle? It certainly would. You know it's getting a 95 on metacritic, especially with the Nintendo curve. A new Zelda is pretty much a no go, given they released the last one a few years ago. A new Mario would definitely sell some more units
The people who would run out to buy a console for mario whatever are the SAME people who would run out for Mario Kart and those people have already done their running.

I don’t think people are that reactionary to indivudal games anymore. We are talking about people spending ~$600 to play mario

Price drops sell consoles more than any one individual game. :manny:

I'm enjoying the Switch 2 and have confidence in the games coming, but it really comes down to price

A new first-party release is costing like 110 bucks in Canada and that is a hard sell

Seeing Nintendo embrace technical specs and visual quality is fun to see but the pricing is absurd and they are clearly seeing what's ahead if they don't rethink the strategy a bit

They will be fine for this gen at least, but they need to start bringing out the heavy first-party hitters sooner than later

Switch 1 also benefitted from the WiiU ports and library. I think those were received better, even at full price, because ppl just wanted to play those games but didn't want a WiiU...

The Switch 2 editions of last-gen games ain't hitting the same way

That said, the new firmware pushed a lot of Sw1 games to native 1080 handheld on Sw2 and they look great now on a smaller screen. It's pretty incredible as a dedicated handheld

Switch 2 is also out of impulse buy territory. You could find sales on switch 1 for $249/299 with a game.

Almost 500 dollars before even getting a game is a lot, especially for a kid to walk around with. I know a lot of families that had multiple switch’s laying around the house in different colors and editions.

Now i don’t see a household having more than one. I’m also one of those people that doesn’t ever see himself paying over 300 dollars for a handheld so…:yeshrug:

You're right. To me, it feels more like a higher-end enthusiast product than Switch 1 did because it emphasizes performance/quality and is the closest they've been to current-gen visuals since Gamecube

A lot do, im not a unicorn, switch 1 sales skyrocketed when tears of the kingdom came out

Your cac tweet headline said:
Looking at hardware, the Nintendo Switch sold 3.91 million units during the quarter, a 13.9% increase year-on-year, with the OLED model representing the wide majority of the sales (2.83 million).

the lowest price we've ever seen.

:ohhh:

Switch sold less hardware and software in 2023 with the release of zelda. Than it did in 2022 with the release of……nothing?:lupe:

Sales “skyrocketed” huh? :usure:

Like what is the debate here that Nintendos flagship games don’t push hardware? :why:

Price drops sell consoles more than any one individual game. :manny:
:wow:
