Yes BP3 made history by winning the most grammy's for a rap album (6). Yes he broke Elvis Record with this album. Yes ESOM is a Classic song and will be remembered forever. Yes all of us old head love how Jay smacked up this generation with "D.O.A." But this album is far from Classic. 3.5 MICS at best. It's the worst in the BP series, even BP2 is better and a lot of people felt that album was weak. Jay was coasting lyrically on BP3, the production was all over the place. Yes there's hot songs but there's also some terrible songs like "Hate" that Ye and Jay should be ashamed of themselves. BP3 is one of Jay's weakest albums despite it's success. Post-Retirement, it's the weakest album. American Gangster put it to shame and yes I even liked "Kingdom Come" better.

i will say that BP3 had a significant impact on Jay-Z's career, but it was not a good album in retrospect. you can't just call an album classic if the music itself isn't up to standards. the album is overhated in my opinion though.

-auto-tune is very alive right now
-the album launched J. Cole's career, which has been somewhat of a disappointment up to this point...Wayne and Kanye and more responsible for Drake and Cudi
-No Id has been a premiere producer for the longest
-and I fail to see how it expanded the age group of fans.

DOA - 5/5
Run This Town - 4.5/5
Empire State of Mind - 5/5
Real As It Gets -3.5/5
On to the Next One - 4.5/5
A Star is Born - 3/5 (probably just me)
Off That - 2.5/5
Venus vs Mars - 3.5/5
Already Home - 5/5
Hate - 3/5
Reminder - 2.5/5
Ambitious - 3.5/5
Forever Young - 2.5/5

Overall - 3.5-4 outta 5. Gets unnecessary hate and came out the gate with fire but fizzled out as the album progressed.

you tried my nikka.....i give you an a for effort but even after all of that scrambling like randal wit his... you could still make all of those points and call it an influential album but the actual disc is still mediocre. '

What does which album he would care more to replicate have to do with an album being a classic? Ok, it sold better and got him grammies. So what? Still don't make the album better. And AG sold well for what it was. Never said it was a commercial blockbuster. At the end of the day AG >>>> BP3. Much better album.

:wtf: @ this even being a debate between AG and BP3
