You may be hopeful but there's just no rational reason for a boxer to choose MMA, only reason would be if they have a wrestling background as well and aren't going to do much as a boxer.

The first documented boxing match happened 300+ years ago, the purses adjusted for inflation would probably still be more than what UFC guys get

The UK is Boxing central bruh, don't ever think it's not.

I don't disagree that boxing is way bigger than MMA and that's not changing anytime soon, but McGregor just sold out the O2 in Dublin in record time last year. And if he beats Aldo in July, his 1st title defense will be in Croke Park. And he'd sell that out too. Dude gets as much love in Ireland right now as anyone....

It's funny too because all of the mma fighters at the strength and conditioning gym I go to have nothing but love for boxers and boxing they even have it up on the screen during some of their training(they share the building) It's always these fat bald tapout shirt wearing fakkits saying some disrespectful shyt towards boxing.

I mess with mma a bit and I most def respect what they do but they have some of the worst fans in all of sports imo.

Boxing has been around for centuries. UFC for less than three decades. Of course it isn't going to be as big. It needs time to become ingrained into the culture.

'Overtaking' isn't a priority at the moment. Establishing more stars and developing talent, fostering future names is the current issue.
I do wish they would do some comical match ups like in Pride.
UFC fights are much more entertaining as a whole than half the fights you see on boxing ppvs though.. the UFC's biggest star might be a woman but she has so many more tools in her box (no pun intended ) than Money May. Mayweather does NOT wanna clinch up with Rousey.
