He did come up organically. His shmoney dance went viral off vine.. I love it how we have grown black men that are shyttin on a 20 yr old kid, that's just gettin started in hip hop. nikkaz are actually praying and cheerleading for this lil nikkaz downfall :snoop:

Is he Hov, rakim, or Nas? Of course not. He's just a young nikka from Flatbush that has a lil buzz in NY and some of y'all nikkaz are simply hatin and bent out of shape.

There is an obvious generation gap with a lot of y'all nikkaz. He's not soundin like nas, he's not rappin over dj premier beats and smokin L's on projects steps in pissy hallways. He is what the youth of ny are ridin with. nikkaz 20 and under grew up more listenin to Jeezy, Gucci & Ross more than Jay Z.

Just accept it for what it is.

I've been hearing the standard, "let him cook", "stop hating on a kid", "what have you ever done with your life?", "NY has evolved" drivel throughout this thread and THAT is part of the problem with our hip hop music today. No way in hell the real artists from back in the heyday of NY hip hop let this pass. fukk that being a hater or him being a kid talk. If you wack you are outta here, go work at Mickey D's or be a stick up kid...hell with all that flamboyant dancing go be a back up dancer for Mary J., Puffy or somebody. There used to be standards, and checks and balances in hip hop from both artists and fans. Now we got legends co-signing trash (when 20 years ago this would have got the Sandman at the Apollo treatment) and weak minded fans following suit.
I said same thing when ppl was like soljah boi is only 16-17...shootnas and rakim made classics that still havent been topped at that age..pet rock was in his teens doing crazy stuff with the sp..tribe was kids when they did ppls instintive travels..smh..

Bullshyt, the OG's are saluting this because it is a reflection of the times. This is a street kid, making street rap. Same way Nore was a street kid making street rap. Every car in New York has this playing, Newark fukking with this, Hartford... but nah we should ignore it because of your out of date ass? fukk u... shyt fukk me really.

This is great music, because it's a time capsule and it's polarizing.

This is the exact reason i think hip hop REALLY need's sub genre's now. Too many narrow minded individuals water down the purpose of the music. It's a reflection of urban youth/culture... theres no right way or wrong way to do it. There is no wack... It's just whatever YOU personally relate to that is what it means to YOU... shyt is just like religion b. There are some kid's/adults who like it and can see it for more than just the face value. Some like the dance. Some feel the music and it's ALL ok.

Bobby Shmurda has just as much a place in rap as Jay Elec, Migos, or Iggy Azalea... just enjoy the culture. Stop trying to define people. The culture needs diversity. For every Joey Bada$$ in the classroom doing his work, there's a little bad nikka not paying attention throwing paper at the teacher and that's Bobby Shmurda. They styles reflect that. nikkas expressing himself. Let him tell his story. You just seeing a dance, he's not "real artist" all this dumb shyt. fukk all that...

You got to take a step back and just appreciate what this music represents. That's what art is about. Keith Haring, Basquiat, however u wanna flip it they gave u a portrait of there time. And Soulja Boy, D4L, Nas, Cormega, Gorilla Black, Trick Trick, E-40 whoever. They just giving u there time and life story how they see it. Either u relate or u don't. But there is no good or bad.

Narrowmindedness kills the culture. That's why EVERYBODY can't be on TV. Mr. Muthafukkin eXquire aint commercial but Kendrick is... but really they both talking about the same shyt, different approach, but its the same shyt... X- Clan used to tour with MC Hammer... let that sink in. When nikkas separate it, that's what kills it. They all different colors in a crayon box... use the ones u like and move on... stop being a fukking hater. U saying he should give up on his life cause u don't deem him relevant. U a sucker for that.

:pacspit:
I agree there needs to be styles than one...the problem is..everybody..north, east, south and west are doing trap...so where really is the diversity..cats from the 90's understand...I can bump the cronic when i wanna here some g funk..or some outkast when I wanna here some smooth ill country flava...u have no options right now in the mainstream and thats the problem..so yeah cats do feel a nyc rapper should sound a certain way but if u go back and check thoses records..mobb deep, wu, etc..its not like everybody sounded the same..shoot rza made several albums as the lone producer that sound different from one another but yet u could still tell it was his beats and not primo or pete rock..

THANK YOU. I'm tired of people using age as an excuse to lack talent. This cat, as a rapper, SUCKS.

KRS, Kane, LL, Nas, hell even Lil Wayne weren't even 20 before people regarding them as great emcees.

It aint about being an old head. Younger cats like Kendrick and Cole have been dropping hot shyt for a minute now. Same with Drake (go on and hate).

There has ALWAYS been wack emcees in our culture. It just seems like the radio plays more wack shyt than good shyt whereas back in the day it was the inverse.

huh... this doesnt make any sense. Bobby don't have one song that could be considered as trap. Actually his two biggest records are over a 50 Cent Beat and a Lloyd Banks beat. Everything with a hard beat isn't Trap. Thing is I can tell the difference between Mike Will Made It and Zaytoven, it don't all sound the same to me.

What NY Rapper raps over Trap actually? French biggest joint is "Shotcaller" and that shyt sounds NY as fukk, ASAP does Trap kinda I guess? Kendrick does Trap? Odd Future does Trap? YG does Trap? Troy Ave does Trap? Action Bronson does Trap? Drake does Trap? Kanye West does Trap? Some shyt gon sound like that ofcourse cuz thats what the bytches like right now. nikkas are in it to get money, but I think it Hip Hop is sssuuuuppppeeerrr diverse now. I'm not trying to argue I just don't understand your post?

the key word there was talented..... For every stupid ass outfit Andre 3000 wore, there was always one consistent thing about him, he had bars, the outfit was his gimmick. these lame nikkas that everybody wants to keep gassing up... chief keef, trinidad james and this nikka, are all gimmick and if any, very little talent... So what if he has the "new york" sound, just because we need a new star in hip hop, it doesnt mean we have to jump on these average ass nikkas bandwagons or dumb our taste down and lower our standards to like this bullshyt...

EXACTLY!!!!!!! we cant keep saying every new nikka that creates his own buzz is evolving the culture. I called it with trinidad james, and all these other so called new talent that has next, I garuntee 7/15/15 this nikka wont get mentioned on the BC or any top radio station or media outlet, because we would have moved on to the next below average rapper that is "bringing the east coast back" ... these nikkas suck, thats why everyone is in here saying it, his fukking name is shmurda :snoop: thats the cornisest shyt i have ever heard.... I just cant get past that wack shyt to even take him seriously... :camby:

Bruh. You have an opinion and you haven't even listened to the music. If you would just give the kids 15 minutes of your time and check them out you would see that it aint that bad.

Niether was Trinidad James. Before I ever saw the music video, that tape was circulating... And that tape was tight. Say what you want to say about him. But that S.A.F.E shyt was kinda of dope. Especially to have never rapped 1 year before. You a hater. How about you put half this effort into finding something you like about it bruh... Just one thing. lol.

Young brother is turning around his life thru music

If this dude came thru with 1000 bars people wouldn't give him the time of day

Only reason why I'm rocking with it aside from the dance being funny/nostalgic.

Bottom line is...this nikka had to wait to do his little interview because of a court date, seems like he's really out here..this could change that. And ain't nobody GIVING him attention undeserved, he got something poppin and i'm not finna knock his hustle just because he ain't got "bars" like the 10 million other nikkas that go so hard to impress yall (us) only to fall on deaf ears or pirated downloads.

Hopefully he can progress as an artist, if not, maybe he can turn he and his friends lives around for the better, i'm cool with that...plenty of other rappers to listen to/support in the lanes you would rather hear from.
