lol even animals murder "humanley" depending on who the apex predator. leopards and jaguars always go for the neck or skull and make it quick

The jaguar doesn’t go for the base of the neck because they being considerate of the prey and it’s suffering. :mjlol:

They go for that area because they are trying to paralyze the prey so it doesn’t flail around and injure them. Jaguars rarely attack straight on, they always try to attack from
behind. It’s the entire basis around the concept of projectile weapons which humans developed thousands of years ago. They want to kill prey with minimal risk of injury to themselves.

just about freshness. if they sell dead lobster, no telling how old it will be. break open a lobster claw and a bunch rotting meat.

the whole murdering something 'humanely" as a concept is low key comical anyway.
Imagine Lions getting around a prey talking about "Listen just one direct bite to the throat ok? Let's not be savages about this, ladies"

It’s unnecessarily cruel. Can you imagine being boiled alive?

You do realize that after you catch a fish you take a blunt object and give it as many golf whacks as possible to the top of its head so that it doesn't lay there suffering from suffocation? And if it's a bigger fish then you have to unleash the Hammer of God when you strike it to cease its brain activity?

Does that sound humane to you?

Better yet are you aware how many fish are left maimed in the water due to the gruesome nature of a fish hook? You haven't lived until you're reeling in a whopper only for it to rip away at the last minute and the only thing you pull up from the water is one of its eyes, fins, or gills?

Does that sound humane to you?

I love the outdoors and all that it has to offer, and that includes procuring my own meat when available. Yes you do it in the most humane and ethical way possible, but when dealing with hunting, catching or even raising live animals for food there will always be at least one step involved that anyone can argue is cruel and inhumane, up to and including putting a rifle bullet into a deer's brain so that it goes night-night as quickly and pain free as possible.

What I wrote about bashing a fish's brain in to kill it quicker is the widely accepted humane thing to do, btw, but the funny thing is we're the ones who define what is "humane" is and what isn't. I'm pretty sure while it's laying there on land, gasping for air with each wasted breath, and catching concussion after concussion from a grown man swinging a 2x4, Mr. Trout isn't sitting to himself: "Gosh, this humane way of killing me makes it all worthwhile." :skip:
