After 20 something years of reading books I came to the conclusion that recalling stuff that you read and explaining it out loud without looking at the book is more important than the reading part

This is what separates teachers from students, think about it.

No more wasting time reading endless books time to make my mind move without the training wheels

That's not hard if you take notes on everything you read and read it with the intention to teach it.

Most of us read to learn something new. We don't directly teach the books we read, we recommend them

Basically people tend to believe that the older we get the lonelier we are. We retire so we don't have work friends, our actual friends start dying, and we just become grumpy old people overall.

The truth is, though, that we selectively cut people out of our lives and focus on the ones that are most important.

We do that because since we feel like we're running out of time, we want to make the best of it.

The same pattern was shown with Highschool and college seniors vs freshmen, as well as people having to move away, etc.

:ehh: makes sense. Thanks for explaining it.

Not a book but still an awesome read:
The Shortness of Life: Seneca on Busyness and the Art of Living Wide Rather Than Living Long

This had me rethinking how I spend my time.

A Sociologist Examines the “White Fragility” That Prevents White Americans from Confronting Racism

https://libjournal.uncg.edu/ijcp/article/viewFile/249/116

White Fragility is a state in which even a minimum amount of racial stress becomes intolerable, triggering a range of defensive moves. These moves include the outward display of emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt, and behaviors such as argumentation, silence, and leaving the stress-inducing situation.
