I like his game a lot but if his shot ain't falling yikes.... he's got terrible BBIQ and is a complete liability defensively. The Nuggets might wanna sell high on him

Crazy thing is towards the end of the season there were signs of his defense improving as well as his overall game, it's just that in this series there was too much adversity so he shrank. AG and Rivers don't help either. Can't forget that Dozier was also injured and he's a solid defender.

Kind of a blessing in disguise, because we can build on what we have right now. I like Facu but he's a bench player, we need to shoot for a legit second/third option and work on our defense. Malone needs to focus on the third quarter/adjustments because they manage to unravel in that situation no matter what. If they plan on keeping MPJ dude needs to get that IQ up.

Agreed.

MPJ is a monster offensive player...issue it's only scoring. He isn't a creator for others. So he's a lethal weapon but narrow. And we can forget about his defense even before the back injury.

Aaron Gordon is terrible as a scorer. Always has been. But he's up there in terms of defense from the wing spot in the league. And he CAN create for others. But Phoenix is keying in on Jokic, even sending doubles when Ayton has him contained just to make sure he don't get comfortable and think shyt is sweet in the post.

So you've got 2 players who are only effective 1 way. Next season Denver gotta use that first half to see just what their young guys can do. They're a lock for the playoffs with Jokic and fukk seeding. See who's gonna ball so by the time Murray is up to speed you know what lineups can compete vs the elite teams.

I think a championship team can carry one liability defensively, not multiple. Joker has been getting killed in the PNR too

I’ve seen a lot of people saying Jokic is getting killed or he’s the reason denver can’t stop Phoenix. Don’t see that at all.

The scheme has been terrible. They’re dropping Jokic so far CP3 can just walk into his FT line jumper. Can’t take away everything but that’s not what you should be trying to give up. Go under the screen and give him the pull up 3.

And Phoenix has been scorching from the midrange and from 3. People trying to put all of Denver’s defensive issues on Jokic because he’s the center, but what exactly is he supposed to do about those shots?

suns should go for the kill and get the win

but i expect the nuggets to play desperate

I don't see it. Aaron Gordon got figured out, that performance from Game 1 is a complete outlier. Suns bench can easily match whatever the Nuggets can put out there, and the Nuggets don't have an answer for when Booker and CP3 get that PnR going w/ Jokic dropping so far back. Easy shots at 15 feet.

Jokic is in the worst of both worlds. Can't give up the rim to Ayton, and gets caught backpedaling vs 2 elite mid range shooters. Both who are good passers and will abuse any help from the corners. Takes really good team defense to prevent Jokic from being exposed and Nuggets are just missing too many guards.

Also shows the value of having a good mid-range game. Booker and Chris Paul have elite footwork, and the latter elite ball handling. They get to their spots even if covered. When Chris Paul gets a guy on his hip and Jokic is dropping back you pretty much know its curtains.
