Where should I go? What are the best places to see going during American thanksgiving weekend.

Start there.

Then tell people what your budget is.
Where you plan to stay.
How long you plan to stay.
What you're into.
What you're not into.

Then maybe people can give you more direction on things to do.

Edit - Apologies if this came across as mean or dry.
But NYC is a big place and there is a lot to do. But it depends on the person.

It wouldn't make sense to tell you to hit up a dive bar or see a Broadway play if you aren't into that.

A few weeks ago I walked the Highline and that was nice. Not the best thing ever but a good time killer.

East Flatbush, East New York, Brownsville (named after its residents who built a villa'esque atmosphere for its brown-skinned residents), Mott Haven and Castle Hill are also pretty well off gentrified areas.

If you're staying in Brooklyn. Try to stay in Park Slope, Greenpoint or Downtown BK.

Super8 is a really good hotel in the Slope. Its not too expensive. And you're about 20/25 minutes from the city. If that.

As far as sites, the city is your oyster. Too many things to see, just do your own personal research. There's something for everyone.

Nothing really, if you're a native to them, or have family there. I've lived in Flatbush and Brownsville before. Both have been good to me. But if you have a short amount of time to be in the city. Take in the other parts. Flatbush and The Ville' can be dangerous
