Finally digging into The Fifth Season (Broken Earth Series) after having it in queue for so long. I know there were complaints about it being "slow" to start but I'm enjoying the setup and world building so far and don't find it that hard to follow at all.

Also, started Mastery by R. Greene) as well. Liking it so far and finding strong parallels to a personal journey I'm on at the moment.

Ol girl I'm talking to read the series last year and overall liked it. I believe she said she like the first book the most, though

You know how that shyt go tho---with books and movies + music too. That 1st one be a mf, and for good reason though. As long as the next one(s) after this ain't downright trash though, I'ma be coo' wit it.

Just finished reading The Unworthy by Agustina Bazterrica

:whew: That book was brutal and bleak the whole way through. It made me think of foreign 70's exploitation horror like a giallo film or a nunsploitation film.
