Couple of options I had in mind

The Blade Itself
The Way of Kings
The Shadow of the Gods
The grace of kings

:wow: Just finished reading Needful Things by Stephen King. Who says King can't write endings? That whole last hundred plus pages was a gripping page turner. I can see it you haven't read Insomnia and/or the Dark Tower series I can see if you are like "what?" at the final showdown, but I was :ohhh:at it lol.

Read Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. I loved Martian Chronicles but Ray's overly flowery prose in this made it a little hard to get into the story; however, in the parts when the protagonists were interacting with the antagonists the prose was more plain and I was much much more engaged.
Maybe in a re-read it will flow better for me

You Belong Here: A Novel
Book by Megan Miranda

Took a quick pit stop to put this one down since I was essentially "forced" to pick something for my BOTM selection last month, and was told I could get a free credit byke if I didn't like it.

I can't say it was the worst book ever but I swear all she does it build tension for 300+ pages then throw as many revelations and fake-outs as she can before things come to an abrupt end. This was my second and probably last book from her.

Besides have a ton of unread books on my shelf, being stuck with a crappy book is one reason I couldn't do book of the month subscriptions. The book game is geared towards women and some of the books that I see make waves I just don't have any interest in.

Yeah, aside from being locked in to set choices, their fantasy/Sci-fi offers are a 2-pack of ass. Just like you said, if it's fantasy, it's basically romantic fantasy. If it's a thriller, it's packaged in a romantic thriller. And so on and so on.

I'm finna dead this shyt soon. I only signed up for it to get King of Ashes by S.A. Cosby for 8 bucks basically as a first timer, plus an additional 3-month deal.

I did just grab The Man No One Believed: The Untold Story of the Georgia Church Murders for my most recent one so hopefully that's a little better. Prolly won't even get to it for awhile tho cuz got way more other shyt to get to on the list.

Just finished king of ashes. Bout to start razorblade tears.

Dante pissed me off to no end. I don't know if that was the authors intent or if I just lack empathy for what he went through. I was hoping that dude got killed early.

I think Dante was Cosby’s “Fredo". Whatever compassion or empathy you might’ve had for him early on went out the window with that goofy ahh shyt he did with the drug deal, and then continued to do. All that woe-is-me and internalized insecurity might’ve flown in his childhood or even young adulthood, but as a grown man? Hell nah. He had a higher threshold of responsibility to his siblings, and he didn’t meet that by a long shot. But it's all a matter of perspective too of course. Somebody else might feel sad for him. I didn't lol

Fucc cuh thought was gonna happening letting that heaux come back into town with that whip :mjtf:

Should've smashed one of dem heaux at the strip joint & called it a day
