I love every song on Krit's King.Remembered.In.Time. But, when Banana Clip Theory and Life is A Gamble came on, I was ready to put him in my top 5 :pachaha:. Why, because both those songs reminded me me of something ATCQ, The RZA, or Pete Rock would had made in the 90s. Even though, I try to listen to new music without prejudging, my biased 90s kid self can never put any other rap era above 90s Hip-Hop. :lawd:

Im 28.
Even though the tracks sound "old" its a good kinda of old. It sounds classic. Like I still enjoy a Jazz sampled beat, Funk sample etc over a synth 808 Lex Luger type beat.

I dont even a problem listening to 80s records which are just a drum beat. Like I had Eazy Duz It on the i-pod at work and shyt still sounded enjoyable to listen to even though the rhymes might seem corny or dated. Depends on how diverse your palate for music is or how open you willing to be or if you have any memories attached to that music even in infancy

Its probably just nostalgia but its a good thing. Even the lyrics sound clear and the emphasis on storytelling.

I don't understand ''outdated'', i mean when i hear BIG's things done change it sound's dusty, grimey it sounds like early-mid 90's new york, that's what i want it to sound like, i hear the crack era, it's great, i hear murda was the case i can feel that early 90's L.A. Out dated to me is when something sounds so far behind to the point it's no longer good, not that it no longer sounds current. Mid 90's hiphop is the GOAT & most young people that didn't live through it know that, only trolls & idiots truely think the 2000's we mostly grew up in or the current gen is fvckin with the mid 90's quality.

No, not at all. The best of it is timeless and ages better than even some of the stuff from the early 2000's.

I do however feel most 80's Hip Hop, even the classic stuff like Ice-T sounds :flabbynsick:.

I don't know how to really explain it , but it when comes to new production the news guys make, I

notice how hollow the drums and bass sound on good speakers, compare to the rich texture 90s production had:yeshrug:

Based on the responses....
27yr olds and younger are musically challenged

Now I know the cut off point in regards to what ages appreciates older music.

I love the 90s music. But im not finna sit here and act like, I personally dont think the early 2000s was just as good, if not better than MOST of the 90s.

Undoubtly better than the post Pac 90s

yes and no

production wise i dont rly like it, personally i dont think its hard at all to make soul sample beats thats y dudes like kanye were makin hundreds of beats in short amounts of time, the style is rly formulaic and pretty simple

these days production is many times more complex, detailed, polished, and they bang

rap wise the 90s was real as hell, id still probably say 90s hip hop is better jus cause of how real the rappers were and the culture in general

i grew up listenin to illmatic so ill always remember the greatness of the 90s, even tho i was only 5 when it was the year 2000
