1 album in 7 years is crazy. People going through middle and highschool with 1 solo album. People graduating college without hearing an album from you in your prime is crazy.

I think people exaggerate how long Kendrick was gone. Before DAMN/Black Panther, he was dropping music consistently for almost a decade. Section 80 came out in 2011 and by 2018, he had four studio albums, a compilation, and a soundtrack. That's a full career right there.

For these kids, they were in elementary school when GKMC came out, in middle school for TPAB, and in high school for DAMN. They literally would have grown up with Kendrick like they would have with Drake.

His last solid project was Views in 2016/17. He only has a few solid projects that were all ghostwritten. His legacy is tarnished, he got dirt on his jacket. a few good albums but not one solid classic only arguables.
