That story is absolutely nuts. And yeah, that is their current goal, taking over schoolboards, and if necessary committing to actions that siphon money out of the pockets of schools. That was the main goal of bill DeSantis put through, under the guise of taking "sex" out of schools, they opened the door for parents to run rampant in public schools making cases out of the blue that would cripple the school as they were easily able to take them to court and have the school foot the bill.

I think they want specifically to get back to 1776 where the only people who get a say in how anything is done is white men who have land. No public services of any kind, black people are slaves, women are only allowed to be maids and cooks. Every man(who isn't a son of property owning white man) is conscripted and forced to fight. There is no U.S. army and instead just a series of militias only accountable to themselves.

They've been working towards this for a long time, and as long as nobody forcefully stops them. Theyll get there.
