Bottom line....Its always the streets that have the final say so...Not blogs and messageboards.

So now "the streets" are just the general public. :gucci:

But you said:

Fred.

The more u talk....the more u sound like someone who doesnt go outside. Like seriously...Your words dont match what I see with my own eyes.

And you are a known Drake hater. U displayed this when u jumped in that convo I made about Pusha T dropping in the 2nd week so I dont believe anything u have to say.

But u can have the last word.

I never understood why a grown man would need to get validation from the street

Answer this question.

How did we validate hip hop in the 80's? Now I already explained that cars riding by with the booming system was the validation but u say otherwise. So how was hip hop validated in the 80's?

Not true, Drake has always songs that loved in the streets. He always had a ear for it and always delivered on that front.

Yes, Indeed is the biggest song in the streets right now
Depends on what your definition of the streets is.

I live in a predominantly Black and Latino neighborhood and you rarely hear Drake outside of his ''dancehall" shyt and even then its seasonal.

What do the streets have to do with anything? Drake fan base like most pop artists is 90% white. :dahell:

I only used Drake as an example to make a point. I also used Azealia Banks as an example.

Keep in mind u already had 1 fool who came in here implying Harlem dont bump Drake?

Are you saying the streets aint bumping Drake? You really trying to say the hood dont bump Drake?

his features get played with hood artists like Future, Wayne, Ross, etc.

If messageboards dictated anything, Jedi Mind Tricks, MURS, Evidence and Immortal Technique would be the most popular rappers in the game and MF Doom and Madlib would be as big as Kanye West.
The streets always have the final say so. Cars Riding By With The Booming System has always been the biggest voice when it comes to who's really hot in the streets. If it was playing on the Gun Hill strip in the Bronx...or the 145th strip in Harlem. Not to be confused with barbershop talk, Whatever got heavy play in the streets was always the final say so....and its been that way since as far back as I can remember in the 80's.

I say this because of all the talk towards Drake in Blackface/Drake dont write his raps that are currently present on urban Blogs and urban Messageboards has not stopped Drakes momentum in the streets. And this is me not caping for Drake...I'm just using Drake as an example. I'll even flip it on the other side. Azealia Banks is my favorite rapper from this decade. But I'm very well aware that her music gets no play in the streets. The same with Saigon...Saigon was my #1 last decade but aside from Pain In My Life playing on Hot 97....The streets wasnt really bumping Saigon like that. But on the flip side I really dont fukk with Futures music like that but I'm well aware that every since "Tony Montana" Future has been heavy in the streets. A lot of Mumble Mouth rap is currently heavy in the streets as well. Thats me being unbiased and realistic.

bro u right and wrong at the same time... it's a big planet... MF DOOM and Madlib arent "Street" artist. Their target aint the streets... so its not a "final" say type of thing.
i dont think that applies there. They are more for underground rap...Madlib commands 50 to 100k a show. He didnt need the streets to that. Fabolous plays in the streets all summer but he cant tour globally like MF Doom.

It's just different sections of Hip Hop.

Azealia never wanted to be an urban artist, so she got what she wanted at the end of the day.
