From $99 android devices that can't even agree on a standard version of the OS, won't receive security updates, filled with carrier bloatware, being stuck on outdated versions of andoid etc. This is the practicality and reliability you speak of?

Not my experience All I buy is $100 phones, I run a Business from it and indulge in all kinds of apps and services.. never been at a disadvantage although I only use samsung.
