I think the misconception is that Rapper X made Y amount and went broke. Rappers, like athletes have so many peoples hands in their pockets. Agents, managers, lawyers, accountants, stylists, protection, entourage, publicists, etc... It cost about $100,000 for a song to take off. Sometimes a rapper can sell a million and still owe the label. Happens all the time. The ones who make a profit are few and far between, and often they make money from investing into other business. For every dollar a rapper makes, their lucky to see $0.30 return after fees. Now if they're in a group it's even worse.
But when they that first check for $20K, are they saving it, paying off debt, or buying chains, and cars?

These record labels just wanted rappers to be crash dummies and just cash out on them if they get into conflict or die from it.

Wait, what???

You so-called 6 figure fellas on The Coli say some of the worse business related ideas I've ever come across. I'm talking embarrassingly awful.

I don't think there's any legit tax-paying business that has to worry about covering a thing financially due to losing an employee to self inflicted street beef, breh. :mjlol:

And even if by some miracle they did unionize, you think a record label would agree to any types of payouts because the same artist who they're investing capital into wants to play in the streets like a child until they get smoked? :mjlol:

All I’m saying Is that these labels benefiting from the artists whether they live or die. I’m not a 6 figure person either.

And if the majority of rappers are dying because they're doing dumb shıt off the clock and getting put to sleep by real shooters, and not due to occupational hazards that can be traced back to their record label, why should the record label be on any kind of hook for anything else after the fact?

All you have to do is stay alive off the clock and produce while one it and you'll see what you're entitled to per the contract stipulations. In any industry. You couldn't even do the easy part and I now owe you something? :mjlol:

Are you really thinking this through or just typing up words for the sake of e-militancy, or do you just not have any idea how businesses and contracts work? :jbhmm:

First priority should be better contracts. Imagine a movie star having to pay for the production of a movie. Once they sort out the money then they can talk about pensions and health care. No way rappers ever agree to a union though.

Will membership come with access to a national hotline allowing you to check in from anywhere hours in advance? :jbhmm:
you gotta contact the local union yourself and meet with the rep...

no need to pay taxes for the check in...

it will be added to your dues...

Record labels sometimes are making artists make violent music or drugged out tunes and pushing it to the masses.
