off topic but i always felt 9/11 was a giant change in our culture(obvious) but everything just became dark, reality driven, scary etc. after 9/11

there was no more magic just shytty reality

i think that's why 90's nostalgia is such a hot topic

its almost like we were forced to forget how exciting the 90's was and just turned into some panicking idiots

^^^

that should prob be a thread topic

It must have been nice knowing a fight was gonna end in a knockout. You knew win or lose it wasn't gonna go the distance and would be decided definitively in the ring

with these mayweather/paquiao fights you pray for a knockout but know its just gonna be a lot of dancing and dodging, maybe a few moments of exchanges and excitement and then a judges decision

Neg yourself :smh:

Growing up Tyson was like Black Jesus in most black peoples household. Even more so than MJ or M-Jack. You couldn't tell anyone that he wasnt the greatest ever. But as i got older and learned boxing more i realized that Mike was fighting a bunch of tomato cans. And when i started telling people about guys like Lennox (who would have still beat Mike in his prime) and Riddikk people looked at u like u stole something. Basically what im saying is Tyson in the late 80's early 90's was huge, unlike anything we will ever see again. U try telling an older head bout 45-50 now that Tyson wasn't the greatest.

It was really crazy..he was bigger than Michael Jordan and without question, the biggest attraction in sports. The reaction during that fight in Japan was fukking crazy. Those people treated him like a god. I still got that on VHS. The HILARIOUS hyped fight with him and Spinks and he knocked that nygga's head off quick:laugh:

Mike was the epitome of beast mode. Tyson fights looked like a real life version of an eleven year old playing playstation. Straight dominance.

90's Heavyweight boxing>>>>>>80's Heavyweight Boxing.

80's boxing as a whole>>>>>>>>90's boxing.

I just hope and pray we'll see another heavyweight boxer like Tyson in our lifetime. Just a straight savage. Holyfield had the mindset but not the power. The Klits and Lewis were dominant and had the power but more concerned with winning rounds and fights then knocking a nikka's head off.

Bowe seemed to be the closest but didn't have the discipline to stay as a great, dominant fighter.
