Finna sign up for a open gym/section in my schools athletic building with my bro, everyman should know how to fight and better they hands. there will be some classes but nothing extreme or as good as getting an actual coach and shyt so i think me n him will just spar and train with each other. dnt think self teaching is bad and can be a good start for now until i go the coach route. Looking for tips or vids/youtube channels, oh and equipment.

buy a skipping rope .... learn how to skip

buy some handwraps and learn how to wrap your hands

shadow box .... a lot ... and I mean a lot in front of a mirror

boxers train by rounds and by a clock so download a boxer timer on your phone ..... box for 3 minutes rest for one , and so on

roadwork ..... first thing in the morning or last thing at night , always make sure you are covered up when you are jogging, minimum two miles

first thing you have to learn is your stance and how to throw a jab ....... it takes ages just to learn how to jab properly .....

just a few things

watching actual boxing matches on youtube at this point will be of no use to you for training because you will not be able to appreciate how and what they are doing..... focus on training videos

since youre going the self learning route

watch as many fights you can...one underrated thing about youtube is that it made it easier..very easier to watch classic fights of yesteryear..esp someone who used to be in the tape trading game and what not

this website is absolute gold for good advice about learning boxing - How to Box | ExpertBoxing

I agree with all the tips posted

Running/skipping rope is what will get ya wind up

Shadowboxing and footwork are key too
Just don't DON'T DO NOT! show everything you know or go to hard on drills on the day of your first sparring session, things will not be good for you

Also with all the pre training expect to get whooped your first few times sparring until u get a rhythm and can fire back in the ring
You will naturally want to turn away from punches to the head but tbh THEY WON'T HURT its like a beesting body shots hurt but w conditioning they not that bad
Last but not least that no sex thing is an old school rumor feel free to bust a bytch dwn it actually clears ya mind when fighting

Get a coach at some point man, lessons are cheap and most coaches will train u for damn near free if you are tryna be a fighter
Its better than getting teed off on in a fight gym thinking you a "street fighter"

Its important to switch up your sparring intensity. Sparring slow develops the finer details of technique and teaches better reaction to movements. Hard sparring increases toughness and gets you ready for a real fight..those beatings are important and will let you know how far u wanna take it.
