I hear you but.......you're not gonna make a case for this when using The Godfather 1 or 2, those are undeniable GOAT movies.

We supposed to be in here talkin bout how its better than godfather and the white man once again usintactics to get us to slander boyz in the hood or menace instead....let's just say Cuba Goodin wuz a horrible leading man for any hood film...I felt nuthin about his character,didnt care if he got shot yet it wuz sad when Ricky got shot...didn't want that nikka to get no puzzy from Nia Long.....I didn't like the actor playin Caine all that much either but he had his moments....far as godfather I don't like that long azz movie at all....much rather watch Scarface 20 times then watch godfather once....and Goodfellas is better to me too.

i disagree. menace is a more realistic and less romanticized take on the hood than boyz, with an authenticity that makes it a more engaging film than boyz.

charles dutton's character filled the role of laurence fishburn. his son was, in many respects, much like cuba gooding jr's. a good kid who hung with the wrong crowd. the grandfather was another positive voice in a world of violence that young caine ignored to his detriment. everything that you give props to boyz for (crooked and racist cops, shady bytches, the moral tug of war taking place within the protagonist's soul, etc.) exists in menace, only in a much more genuine form.

i almost feel like boyz is the white boy version of the hood.

cops beatin caine and shareef ass and droppin them off in the mexican hood> cops pulling trey and ricky and making trey cry

odog caine and a wax merkin dem nikkas dat killed harold> dough and the goons merkin tha nikkas dat killed ricky

opinions are opinions but that was a weak breakdown. The title suggests that there would be specific comparisons on top of a well thought out breakdown. Your statement just sounds like u finished watching the movie, got hype and decided to blog about it.
