the real hiphop.
I thought it was decent for Jigga's standards. I can see why I lotta people hate on it, but I felt it got more hate than it deserved.

An album so average that I forgot about it until you brought it up today.

A post-808's failure.

It had a direction, it achieved it's goal--make Jigga even more of a household name. If there's an album where people want to point to and say he mailed it in lyrically, this is that album. It has some replay value on certain tracks if you're in a certain mood and some tracks are comical "haters," but this is his most pop-friendly album. No hip-hop head, and anyone who knows what Jay is capable of can truly love this album. I knew it was bad when some kid in my dorm told me that he thinks this is his best album ever and this kid didn't know shyt about rap. :smh:

It had some dope shyt.

"So Ambitious" is probably one of his most criminally slept on records too.

That second verse :ohlawd:

Jay-Z is my all-time favorite rapper (when it comes to an artists complete career), but, can we please, stop talkin' about this weak, corporate-esque, whinny, album?

It's not that good, it's not horrible, but a classic album that Jay needs to take some time off...he uninspired.

He's going this "artsy" route, when, dukes like Nas been "experimenting" for 15 years.
Cats kill me with this "I'm a big ___ fan but...." What, you think that making that " Jay Z is my favorite rapper" disclaimer makes your opinion more valid or something? Here's some advice, if you're tired of seeing people talk about the album, then stop entering threads that are discussing the album. What's the point in trying to convince people to not like album because you for like it?

Thank you, and already home are classics though, those two still get play today

I've always liked Real As It Gets, even though it wasn't the most lyrically breathtaking song. It just had a good vibe. I play those three songs, and occasionally So Ambitious, but that's it. But "What We Talkin About" isn't wack until he does that Jamaican accent shyt that I don't know why no one has told him sounds horrible yet....."rasclat..." nah Hov: I could see someone liking that.

The only thing worse was when he got on that Movado shyt and was like..."ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude boy throw your diamonds up." :deadmanny:

Because ppl, on the-coli, automatically write u off as a "hater," when you are just expressing an objective opinion

You're right, I shouldn't have to do it--but, that's the-coli
