Havent got shoes since the concords cuz they hype is too real.. anyway I can get the 8s withou standin in some dumbass mall. Called the mall by me said they givin passes at midnight
im not sure what swizz does...maybe he is solely responsible for it..maybe not
but why did reebok not jump all the way into the retro game years ago once it popped off?? who was makin those decisions back then?

because there was no shoe craze like there is now.......all this hype for retro's didnt start until two years ago......

nikka two years ago you could walk into spots and cop retro's with no problem.....wasnt no one checking for Reebok retro's like that......or even J's like that.......yes they sold out.......but that was over days not minutes........
First day sellouts were common. First minute...not quite. Lines and campouts arent a 2 year old phenomenom though...if you SPECIFICALLY mean jordan retro hype, maybe...but shoe craze?

I already knew you were gonna bring up AF1's and SB's........but were talking bout retro's..........even back then it still wasnt as bad as it is now......there were many low key spots that sold SB's and AF1's back in the day and they were fairly easy to cop if you lived in an area that catered to it......
never liked 8s much anyway. i don't recall people caring much for them until kanye was whoring out the aquas a few years ago. then everyone wanted 8s.
this is true. back in the day (2-3 years ago..lol) only certain releases were hyped to the point of instant sell outs and camping. now it seems most every single sneaker that comes out is an instant sell out or vanishes within a days or so. even the price increases haven't made a difference at all.
yeah the Space Jams started the hype to smoking, the Concords started the fire blazing. There's always been a fair amount of hype on retros and cats who made events of saturday morning releases etc but with twitter and these sneakerblogs its a WHOLE other level of ridiculousness. Like you have to plot to the nanosecond now if you're an online head.
I used to be able to walk into Champs weeks or even months sometimes after releases and cop.
I got the Aqua 8's from a mom and pop spot in early 2009 and they had dust on them literally from sitting so long. Those came out in 07
shyt in 2008 I got quite a few countdown Packs for sale price or retail and not one of them on their release day. Casually strolling thru the mall and bought. The 20/3 pack went on sale in quite a few sizes at one point because they sat around.
I want the Shaq's mainly because I had the OG's back in the day and wore those boats proudly
but I won't put much effort into it, if it happens it happens.
