Even if you increased the roster size to 15 and eliminated position balloting, there would still be players who felt that they were left out. Everybody can’t make the All-Star team and it’s totally okay. It’s not a participation event where every star player gets to join.
nikka will make all this drama over being snubbed for an allstar appearance but wont say shyt when he dont make the All NBA teams cause he know he not 1st, 2nd or 3rd team.

This shyt is about narratives.

The NBA and NBA fanbase, since Bron took over the league in 2010, has gotten extremely savvy about constructing narratives about players and teams.

As it stands, Bradley Beal and Book have no excitement about themselves or their teams. No storylines to keep the general public interested.

This isn't really their fault (tho I think both of them are Robin's putting up Batman numbers on bad teams) as the Suns are so bad that we're all wondering when Book will leave, and the Wizards are still rebuilding after 2 decades of inept management.

Meanwhile, Trae Young is seen as the next Curry. Lowry is seen as the loyal veteran, the man in the trenches, for the reigning world champs. Westbrook is seen as on his last stand as a team changing player.

Yea their numbers may not be as shiny and their impacts on wins may be just as mediocre, if not worse, but guess what? They have intersting narratives on their side.

All-NBA teams is what he and other players should be bytching about more as it’s directly effecting their bread more than making the all-star team.

I’ve always said this .. wtf does winning have to do with a all star game? This ain’t the playoffs .. tf

It has everything to do with it.

It's about selecting the best performing players, not the players with the best box score statistics.

It's not about narratives when the coaches vote on it.

They know the guys they game plan for night in and night out.

Guys like Lowry are just winners. You could watch a Toronto Raptors game and most of the possessions either offensively or defensively, Lowry is doing something to increase his team's chances of winning. Whether it's setting a screen, taking a charge, delivering an assist, hitting a 3, boxing out, making a steal, defending. Yes, he won't have the box score numbers of a Beal or Booker but he's going to make a bigger impact and the advanced metrics throughout his career have always shown that.

Look at Devin Booker tonight. I love him. Great talent......but the Suns were up 99-92 with 4 minutes left at home against OKC, they didn't score another point and lost the game. CP3 found a way for his team to win....Devin Booker didn't make a single play down the stretch to help his team win. That matters.

i disagree
it's all narratives
the current narrative is you have to be on a winning team to be an all star
if devin booker was put on a winning team he would be considered a "winner"
roster construction, talent level, chemistry, etc. and so many other variables determines if a team is good or not
this is how players like draymon green, a role player, gets overhyped/overrated as more than what they are
