North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
i was listening to Organized Konfusion's first album earlier and it was killing me at how much better Po & Monch sounded together bouncing rhymes off eachother than either of their solo careers.

the duo is a sorely missed piece of the rap puzzle. that's why that Heltah Skeltah album DIRT from a few years ago was so fresh. those dudes have mad chemistry.
:whoa: I don't know about sounding better. This album is a classic

Brand Nubian didn't change their style when Puba left, they actually changed their style to fit the first album because those hardcore songs weren't what ruled the air waves at that time. No one was talking about gats except for NWA, once Puba left, rap began to change and Lord Jamar and Sadat became comfortable. I remember Lord Jamar speaking on this with the Stretch and Bobbito show. Nostalgically All For One is better BUT, In God We Trust is straight HEAT. LORD Jamar on Black and Blue is crazy! Matter of fact Lord Jamar stepped up big time. I remember Allah and Justice being sang on this old radio show called "The Supreme Team Show" back in the 80's.

They did catch a little negative press fir the hardcore makeover. But the music was so strong it subsided.

Now, lord Jamar morphing into a wannabe gangsta rapper on the third album was a hard pill to swallow. And the music on that one wasn't as fresh.

I think there was also an effort to separate themselves from what Puba was doing. that foundation was already kinda laid out with what was said at the beginning of Wake Up ("he be talking about skins all the time"). Puba was seen as the more smooth and clever (and marketable) ladies man rapper

I had to come back and express how it was dudes like Brand Nubs who helped put confidence is me as a young Black man. I was fortunate enough to have both parents but they gave me an extra push with their music. Gave me a different perspective on life as a whole. Sadat was my fav but Jamar bombed with strong facts that niqqa was passionate in is rhymes. Gonna rock this album for a while now.
