Jets receiver Brandon Marshall spoke out this week about what he sees as a double standard in the NFL, with white players getting preferential treatment on discipline. Jets coach Todd Bowles wasn’t happy about that.

Like most NFL coaches, Bowles doesn’t like players focused on anything other than the team’s next game. And so when Bowles heard about Marshall’s comments, he sought Marshall out and asked him not to make comments like that.

“I just like him [to be] smarter moving forward,” Bowles said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “In terms of how he says things.”

Bowles said he doesn’t think Marshall is a distraction, he just wants to make sure all the focus in the Jets’ locker room is on football.

But Marshall made his comments on the set of Inside the NFL, not at the Jets’ facility. And there’s nothing saying that Marshall can’t be fully focused on football while also expressing his opinions in his free time. Football coaches are control freaks, but Bowles needs to know he can’t control everything Marshall or any other player says.

Is that really a remarkable achievement for 2015...they have key roles that they keep separate too please believe(they tried QB for the longest):usure:...I don't want to throw money at an organization that is merely TRYING to be less racist...fukk Dem Crackers:martin:. In cinci for like 6 years straight they would suspend some black player for some bullshyt in the beginning of EVERY YEAR...six years straight...Henry had to fall off that truck and die for them to fall back. I know profiling when I see it. These rich racists are washed:flabbynsick:...but ninjas keep supporting their product :mjpls:

They weren't suspending black players for "some bullshyt" especially during that 2006 season

Chris Henry: getting caught with weed, pulling a gun on somebody, drunk driving
Odell Thurman: drunk driving
Frostee Rucker: Spousal Abuse
Deltha O'Neal: drug possession
Leon Hall: drunk driving
Jonathan Joseph: drug possesion
Ahmad Brooks: accustation of punching a woman

Cincy had a willingness to draft players with "troubled" backgrounds because of Marvin Lewis' ability to reign them in.... it's not fukking profiling

Ben was accused 3 times.

Name the 3rd

When Ben got in trouble for the Bathroom incident at a college bar, I remember it being brought up multiple times by the national media that he had been accused by 2 different women before that.

The fact that the first 2 times he got accused of rape got swept under the rug is white privelage at it's finest.

Everything you listed has been done millions of times by cac NFL athletes and WRIST SLAPS ARE HANDED OUT...real shyt. And Marvin drafting troubled players being announced was nothing more than a pre-existing excuse for police in the area to profile them downtown(with support from Goodell, he had to watch that new nikka coach Lewis's young black bucks:beli:)...I live here, I know, and if u ask other ninjas around here they'll tell you the same. They were profiled a lot in the club district downtown over and over again. shyt doesn't happen in NE like that and it won't. Most of those offenses were dui's and weed tickets...people here STILL don't know wtf happened with Odell Thurman...MEAN WHILE AARON HERNANDEZ IS FUKKIN MURKIN NINJAS...BUT HE'S GOOD CAUSE THE GOLDEN BOY NEEDS HIM...its some bullshyt breh:stopitslime:

To be fair to Bowles, that quote isn't in the proper context of what he said -

"I think his opinion is well warranted, in what he said," Bowles said, via NJ.com. "I'm sure you had cases back when I played. I've seen some things, just like he's seen some things. But I'm not on that (national television) platform. He is. And he's got to be smarter.

"He can express his opinion. I said I have no problem with it. I'd just like him to be smarter going forward ... You can say things, and they come out a different way than what you mean it. He's just got to be smarter that way."

Jets' Todd Bowles: Brandon Marshall needs to be 'smarter' after Deflategate comments

:heh:

Are you even black? " if you ask ninjas around here" :scust:

Wrist slaps were handed out...the fact they weren't allowed to play football for awhile doesn't make it "bullshyt"

Jerome Simpson had 2 pounds of weed shipped to his house, and only got 15 days in jail and probation

Or Rey Maualuga blowing a .157.... and got a "suspended 7 day sentence"

You're acting like Aaron Hernandez is still playing for the Pats.

Do you remember why Brandon Spikes doesn't play for the Pats anymore? or that Nick Kaczur got caught with 200 pills of Oxy? or Willie Andrews getting pulled over with a half pound of weed, 6k in cash or pointing a gun at his girlfriends head?

1st Round Playoff Exits
The game is getting a LOT better. Look at all the Black QBs and head coaches. Used to be a novelty. Even lots of Black refs now. I remember when there was TWO, now I don't even recognize them all.
tbh, they handled the ray rice situation as transparent as possible until the video came out....then it was a wrap...

"Am I black"... nikka what?:stopitslime:

I'm black enough to say what the fukk I want referring to us, NINJA:stopitslime:

The Pats didn't have shyt to do with Hernandez being locked up...Hernandez did that, if it was up to them he'd be returning punts today...and u know it:comeon:

And I'm not saying other teams don't have discipline issues...but the cinci shyt was a lil different...more concentrated, scheduled, and deliberate...and Simpsons WIFE had that sent if I remember correctly...which is why his sentence was so light,he took the charge for her:manny:(plus that's a little outta the time frame I was talkinng about)

Still, the NFL can green light any team or players it feels like and it often does...and when it comes to players often times they're a minority :francis:

Football, more than the other sports, is so racist precisely because it recreates the imagery of slavery itself.

First there's the combine, with all the measuring of black bodies, rank speculation on their monetary worth, and the leering, pseudo-sexual gaze of older, white, impotent men (coaches, fans, scouts, writers).

Then there's the practice field and the whole training camp. You've got black men literally running around in the heat all day, breaking their backs, putting their bodies on the line for white plutocrats. You've got a gang of overseers: head coaches, assistants, etc. all dogging these athletes. Worst of all are the team owners, who stalk the sidelines silently, observing their "property".

Adrian Peterson wasn't right when he said NFL players are slaves, but was definitely on to something.

Well damn. It's hurts that the truth but.. Now I can't see Bama football the same again.
